Certain armor helps your k/d ratio?

I often wonder if the armor can assist you in your k/d. People for instance say Locke’s armor is very ‘low profile’ and makes it harder to pin point. I’ve heard others say bright visors draw too much attention. I wonder about people’s opinion on this topic. What armor sets do you think serve a purpose in helping your Spartan become less of a target?

K/D doesn’t matter.

Honestly. I don’t think hat armour really affects the game like that at all. After all, the hit boxes are exactly the same one way or another, right?

Yup. The size of Alaska either way.

In team games, everyone is blue or red so armor doesn’t affect kdr. Imo.

Edit: I see lots of noble persons are giving you the “kdr doesn’t matter” speech. Maybe change your OP to armors that help you die less. That may appease those lecturing you.

The only thing I can see being an issue is maybe visor color. If you are running around with the Eva helmet and a bright green visor you might be more visible.

You should be more concerned with W/L ratios than K/D ratios.

We should be all focusing on causing the most mayhem and having the most fun. This is Halo, not Counterstrike!

In previous halo’s I’ve always tried to use the smallest helmets, shoulders, etc. Just because I feel like a couple shots would maybe miss me? Haha who knows man. Maybe the visor thing is reasonable in free for all gametypes, but the Team based gametypes have Spartans that are bright blue, and red.

One thing I’ve always wondered about, especially in halo 5, is are the hit boxes absolutely huge on smaller helmets/armor?

If you set your spartan to female and use the smaller armors and helmets, then compare them to the bigger armor/helmets on a male, the difference in size is huge.

Assuming the hit boxes are the same no matter what, it would basically mean that what would look like a pretty clean miss on a smaller helmet would have to register as a hit.

I’m assuming they took the biggest armors and helmets in the game and based the universal hit boxes around them.

Yeah, work on that CSR and we’ll talk bud. Keep the salt on the table. Just a question.

Well this turned into a “who’s junk is bigger” thread before too long didn’t it.

I remember people had discussions on Halo 3 with Spartans or Elites on Swat. Elites either had easier time getting 1 shot or harder time getting 1 shot lol.

I did where a helmet that helped cover up what colour I was and every time I popped my head from cover I got shot a lot less mostly giving me the chance to shoot 1st

I’ve thought about using armor that makes me fully white but thought I might get betrayed a lot too

It’s only cosmetic. Small armour may not be noticed as easily as big but this is very very slight, I doubt any significant data could be taken from this. Reds beat blue more often overall though, there’s a recognised difference there.

w/l and k/d ratios don’t matter too me, all I’m here for is just too play the damn game and have good time, and finally finish off two level 5 commendations

Well I can say that armor does effect the game. I see people wear really small tight armor now the hit boxes might be the same. However, I think the smaller armor makes you misjudge where your shooting at. It’s just a trick by the eyes. That being said I know their are people who will exploit anything they can to be the best. It’s just a part of gaming. Same goes with the visors bright visors a little easier to head shot then someone with a red visor while playing as red team, the visor color can make you a bigger target.

leave it to a red to say some -Yoink- like that. you dont want it with blue team…

I wonder this myself too. As I pick an Eva helmet once I unlock it.
