Certain Affinity reportedly developing new mode for Halo Infinite

Ohhh, when was that mentioned? Would love some kind of PVE thing.

I have to find the source of where it was mentioned but it was in the plans for a while for a large PVE mode. Kinda like warzone in a sense but better, much better.

Yeah that makes sense. I remember bringing Warzone Firefight in being a big deal at the time and it’s still gets pretty decent numbers from what I can tell.

Catering to the casuals? That is such a bad take. From day 1, 343 has bent over backwards to cater to competitive crowd.

Who asked for grenade pads? Cleary it’s there for the causals. Just like no collison and the various sound ques for everything in the game. They didn’t cater to the competitive crowd esspically since there is only one ranked playlist.

What they did do was make maps based on HCS. They also kept in Sprint, slide and clamber which by default makes it sweaty.

They built a mix and match game that works for no one except the die hard fans that will play it regaurdless of what it is

Grenade Pads replaced Grenade placements which have been an impact in Halo since the very beginning. So, I’m not sure what you mean by this point.

To be honest, I think most of their decisions were based on feedback by the competitive side, including no-collision. I think that being off impacts casual players more than anything, cause they will constantly run through their enemy and get back-smacked, etc. The thing is the competitive side likely ignores aspects that will be more fun for casual players.

For the record, casual players really don’t enjoy Fiesta or Tactical Slayer that much, at least in Infinite. Why would they? Most of the various weapons are difficult to use. I think my winning record in Tactical Slayer is about %20, lmao.

Casual players enjoy game modes like Grifball, Zombies, and BTB.

Grenades didn’t need to be changes. They changed to make them more visible. This caters to causals.

No collison caters to causals who get upset over body blocking. I garentee you the pros don’t like no collison. It ruins high IQ plays. As a competitive player myself no collison is the WORST thing about this game.

People don’t enjoy feista and tactical slayer BECAUSE THE THRUSTER PACK IS GONE. People fail to realize that’s why made swat and feista fun. The fact that you can dodge in swat. Or the fact that you can fly around in fesita not limited by your Spartans movement. On top of that there was WAY more weapons in feista in halo 5. And even more so when super feista which is argubly the best feista halo has ever had

I don’t like the pads for weapons or grenades, but I don’t think it caters to one player more than another and is such a small thing. Anyway, if I had my way, there would be no Frags on the map cause you can pick them off of dead bodies. All those placements encourage are grenade spamming (throw both grenades then replenish quick).

This is not true. The Casual players want to jump on their teammates and enemies. They also want to know when they should Melee. No-collision does not cater to casuals at all. And, I agree that most competitives don’t like it either. I think it was introduced on lackadaisical feedback by the competitive side (ie Forerunner team which included Pros). Also, Infinite maps are so busy and maze-like that it’s possible they wanted players to be able to move around corners easier, but I still think the negatives from this are more important and were not considered.
