I’ve been playing for a couple of days and today I noticed that my center channel in my 5.1 setup is not working. I encounter this problem so far only in Halo 5, and only during gameplay. In the menus the music does play over the center speaker and during cutscenes in the campaign the center speaker works as well. My 5.1 audio system is a bit older though, I can only connect it using an optical cable. Is this causing the problem?
During gameplay I do hear all the sounds, gunfire and voices, and the direction (left front, right front, left rear, and right rear) is correct as well. In multiplayer the center channel doesn’t work either.Together with someone from microsoft support I’ve spend 2 hours troubleshooting. Rebooting my console, reïnstalled the game.
In forza 6 it does work correctly, but in CoD advanced warfare I have the same problem. Changing from Dolby Digital to DTS output does not matter, my audio system does recognize the audio output however.
Microsoft support suggested a networking problem and maybe my high latency of 162ms is causing a problem (although I think this is highly unlikely).
Does someone have a clue what’s causing my problem?
P.S.
