i bought this game today thinking “Great! i can play the original game with a few win/win extra’s!”
i was wrong. The “classic” mode does not deliver to it’s word. they ruined the story for me, by adding their crap in the scenes. the classic mode does not remove their crap. only reason i gave it a chance was for the skulls and multiplier but it’s not worth the smack on the face they give you when they try mixing up the original story and scenes with their so called improvements.
within the first minute of playing you see it, when their popping the lid on master chief the idiot chubby marine on the left looks to his right and does a “I don’t know” jester as if he’s suppose to be some slap stick comic relief. tell you what, let classic be “classic” and take your -Yoink- out of it. i’m returning the game tomorrow, and gonna get a used copy of the real original thanks. Because your BS changes ruined it for me.
…What? Classic mode doesn’t use the new Saber assets. If there was a “chubby” guy, you weren’t in classic mode. You realize you can only force the switch via the back button when outside of cutscenes, right?
Now, personally I’d go for the original game as well, especially if an original Xbox is available (to avoid the mildly okay software emulator used by the 360). I’m not a fan of the Anniversary visuals (or the input lag that goes with), classic mode badly suffers from CEA being a port of Halo PC and is a rather visually butchered version of CE, and the sound design is rather bangy, on top of a host of other issues.
Wait, so because 343 enhanced in a scene (which I recall none but it’s been a few months since I’ve played the game), you completely trash 343’s efforts to remake this game?
I know they really discourage people from flaming others but you make it damn tempting. I really don’t understand how a shrug of the shoulders in a scene can make you fly off the handle like that. Are you off your Ritalin medication?
Wait… What? I don’t understand why you’re complaining. So you’re going to return the game because…some guy is a bit chubby and because an animation is slightly different?
last time I checked and everybody else…343 did not change any cutscenes, or change anything about the game. all they did was add skulls, terminals, and add a new graphics engine. A brilliant game and worth every GBP i spent on it and Id buy it again anyday, Fuc*in masterpeice!
