CEA Difficulty Levels

I love that CEA is coming out in the near future and cannot wait to play the reskinned levels, nevermind to actually get achievements for them.

One question I do have, however, is whether any thought has been given to adding skulls or a Mythic level of difficulty. I can run through the majority of the game on solo Legendary without losing more than a bar or two of health on any given level. I can complete the dreaded Library without a single death. Something to up the difficulty level would be wonderful beyond description.

So long as by Mythic you mean “Legendary Mythic Skull On” and havent fallen for Tyrant’s “Mythic = Laso, lol look at my massive ego!” ploy than I have nothing bad to say to you.

Oh, also, I wouldn’t mind an official Mythic difficulty.

You know what difficulties CEA will have, they are just copying and pasting the code of the original game, a new difficulty would require them to recode the entire game.

Would it really? How can you be sure?

They said it is the exact same code as in CE.

Except for the terminals. And except for the achievements. And also except for online co-op. And also also except for being able to switch from the original to the new graphics engine.

Yep, EXACTLY the same.

I was more getting at the fact that nobody really knows that adding an additional difficulty level would take an entire recode except the people developing it, but you about summed up everything else wrong with the logic, too.

By the way, a recoding wouldn’t be necessary. Just give the enemies more health and damage output for an additional difficulty. Fairly low-effort endeavor. Not saying they should do it, just that they really really could.

epic win. i think its hilarious when people try to talk about whats possible to add and what not to. like they have some sort of knowledge about to make games.

It would be awesome to see some skulls in Halo CEA, perhaps having to find them as well. Although I guess this would alter gameplay :open_mouth:

I hear you OP. I can do Truth & Rec legendary in my sleep. Higher difficulty would be appreciated.

Achievments have nothing to do with the actual game code, making something work online isn’t a complete recode, it’s just adding servers and seeing if the lag does not mess with gameplay (there are 3rd party software programs that let you play original XBOX games online), terminals can be added with the new graphics layer easily, and the swap between graphics is just removing the graphics layer.

Making a new difficulty would require them to recode all of the AI in the game.

So yes, it is the same code, they just made graphical enhancments and allowed you to play online, that is not making major changes to the code. You’re trying to make it sound like they made the whole game from scratch.

And also, have you noticed that none of your examples change the gameplay in any way? Just thought I should let you know that.
