I just gave it that name, but have any recalled a time when you player could not move at all? There would be a display box in the bottom right corner that pops up and goes away repeatedly.
When it goes away, you can move, but can’t when it’s back. I don’t know if this was lag switch or what. I say that, because there was some sweaties camping teleporters on Chill out. The game got progressively laggy until I couldn’t move at all, and one guy on the enemy team could only kill us.
is this bad netcode, lag, glitch? What is it?
yes, and ill give you some insight, this glitch happens in halo pc. its when you have a ping rate extremely lower then the other players, this was an issue with the pc version, now this could be an issue caused in both games because halo 1 never had online gameplay on the xbox so i cant say mfor certain its a pc only issue…but it begs the question even further why it never got taken out

Kids these days.
It’s a picture of a phoneline cable being unplugged (more specifically it’s a picture of the back of a modem). It’s common to many old shooters. It means you’re losing connection to the server briefly.
So very possibly you’re either lagging on your end, or someone is lag-switching the server.

To be fair, I played plenty of old games before online capabilities. Yes I was a kid those days, but being young had nothing to do with it. I believe my first online console games (that I owned) were Cod4, Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I very briefly experienced H2 online.
My gaming preferences, and not having access to online is why I am not familiar with the modem pic you described.

Woah, that modem picture from PC is still in the game? That’s rather interesting. But yeah, what you’re describing OP sounds like you encountered a lag-switcher.
