It’s kind of ridiculous how much lock on melee attacks in Halo 5 have, much to the point where even thruster pack cannot dodge one. The beauty in CE’s melees was that while they had a bit more range, you had to have your reticle actively on the enemy for the strike to connect.
No more lock on melees for the win!

I’m not entirely positive about that. I believe it was only Halo 2 that was that way. In fact, the way Halo 2 handled melees was very interesting. Melees in that game were stronger or weaker depending on whether or not you were in motion towards the target, jumping on them, etc.
