From what is known, the Blockade Runner is equipped with anti-detection technology, while the CCS does not appear to be, which may have given the Blockade Runner the opportunity to get close to the CCS.Both have additional personnel and hangars, but it appears that the CCS has a higher capacity. So if CCS starts sending out a lot of Seraphs and the like, Blockade Runner may have a problem. However, the Blockade Runner’s energy projector has been officially confirmed to be sufficient against any advanced ship, albeit at a shorter range.I think it will be a race between the two sides, with CCS using all means to find the Blockade Runner as quickly as possible and using their own aircraft and equipment range advantage to keep the Blockade Runner at bay, and the Blockade Runner needing the superior command of the shipmaster to close in on CCS so that the energy projector can be activated. If the Blockade Runner’s shipmaster is a good commander, CCS may not be an unbeatable opponent. These are my assumptions.
The CCS and the Blockaderunner have very different purposes. The Blockaderunner is a Corvette the size of a Cruiser, build to break through enemy lines, deploy troops and repeat. It carries a sizeable fighter complement (although it’s smaller than that of the CCS), and it carries a comparable amount of ground assets and soldiers.
The CCS is a all-out ship. It can be used to break blockades like the Blockaderunner, but it can just as well be used for defending key locations, acting as Carrier, acting as flagship and engaging in space combat. The CCS can 1v1 small ship movements with minimal problems.
It’s versatility is the reason for why it and it’s precessors ended up becoming the Covenant fleets backbone. It’s basically a Blockaderunner and a Carrack combined with better tech.
If it comes to a 1v1 the CCS will win most of the time. It’s like putting an SDV Corvette and two CAR Frigates against a CCS, it’s a massively one-sided battle.
