I’ve been out of the loop since Halo 4 except for 2 episodes of Nightfall (hilarious, by the way) and Hunt the Truth. What all should I read/watch to catch up on the current state of events?
Read halo escalation comics, read blood lines and hunters in the dark
- Halo 4 (game) - Halo: Escalation (Comic) - Halo Spartan Assault (game) - Halo Spartan Strike (game) - Evolutions – The Return - Shadow of Intent - **Halo 5: Guardians (game)**This is the order of events since Halo 4. Evolutions is a collection of small stories and The Return is one of those small stories. Shadow of Intent is a digital novel that won’t be release until Dec. 15th. There is a Spartan Ops movie (on youtube) that you should watch that shows some events just after Halo 4.
Other than that I don’t know what else to tell ya.

I have never been a big comics person. They have always been “meh” to me. The novels/short stories are excellent though and I highly recommend them.
you should give the novel “new blood” a read, if you’re a fan of buck.
“hunters in the dark” also, if you wanna get to know Olympia Vale better.
besides that, catch up with the summaries of the latest escalation comics
on the wikia page and the cutscenes of SpOps, of course.
Halo Channel has a new short video with the sort of history of the Halo Universe. Also check out this video by Gamers Little Playground. It is every cinematic, Terminal ect. from the Halo games in mostly chronological order that they happen (not just H1-H4). It will catch you up on pretty much everything but the books… it’s also 11 hours of content!!!
