A lot of this does have precedent, but I’m also not trying to downplay subjective takes either nor am I trying to upsell my own.
We both worry about what happens down the road, but we have different stances on what this entails.
Wanted to at least end this on a neutral ground, and also wanted to share a little “20 characters” trick:

Do you have any posts of people openly saying they’re okay with older silly things or at least not giving a reason for liking them over the new ones? Because again, just because you didn’t meet anyone doesn’t prove the negative that they don’t exist or that even lots of them don’t exist.
The only people I’ve read about are talking about these current cosmetics. And I don’t like the cat ears nor the fotus. I didn’t like Hayabusa, but I found it to fit better in the universe than cat ears or unicorns.
I liked the lightning clouds and the skull helmet, but I find that I like them because they’re intimidating albeit “unrealistic.” So the line I draw is at cutesy vs intimidating. Hayabusa was not to my taste, but I still found it intimidating and thus fine to be in the game. So no, I didn’t like the hearts either. I don’t know what yall are talking about farts? Do you mean like the gas clouds and flies? I saw that more as plague clouds because it wasn’t exactly coming from the rear-end, now was it?

So what? If you don’t cat ears on the helmet then don’t buy it simple as that. Some cosmetics have niche audiences and I’m glad that 343i is incorporating said cosmetic ideas into halo.
It is true that some cosmetics subtract drama and epic from the Spartan.
I’m a classic gamer and I don’t tend to adorn myself much but I find it fun to see the styling of some players and some of them make me smile. Once the game starts, I don’t notice them, but they are fun for a few seconds.
If you like it and you have money to pay for it, buy it.

it was expected given how a bot rarely had it in custom/bot modes. but as long as they don’t go over board with this… kitty stuff. i’l be okay with it. but at the same time… that’s false hope. 343 really only cares about money, never really bothered with keeping it consistent. be it the artstyle or armor -v-

for those of you here complaining about something as subtle as cat ears (lmao), go to the MCC forum and complain there first, they have actually outrageous cosmetics for a Halo game

It’s literally just a cosmetic. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Very simple. It has no effect in the lore either considering the Yoroi armour set is a thing.
Not everything in the game is meant to cater or revolve around YOU, so stop being so selfish and taking away something other people like.
Wanna know what’s really sad and pathetic? Judging and putting people down for how they choose to present themselves.
It’s nearly 2022, being a bigot is not socially acceptable. Even in a video game. Maybe you’re what should be removed from Halo.
