Of course they belong in Halo and yes I have them.
Missing probably the most common 2 voting choices:
1- no i dont have them but i dont care if others do
2- pay for a cosmetic item? LOL
I’d vote for both of the above!
I haven’t paid for anything yet. Though maybe I may get a battle pass.
Yeah I bought battle passes, they feel actually somewhat worth their price. Single items though that are like 10 bucks for… cat ears? F that.
That is the only reason I don’t buy stuff because It is so darn expensive.
This. I don’t have them or want them, but I don’t care if other people use them. I can’t really judge peoples aesthetic when my current coating is based on Oreo Cookies… ![]()
dont have em or want em. do find it amusingly insulting to be merced by somebody who does. so i’d have to say i don’t really mind em
“Of course they belong in halo” lol no they don’t. What on earth makes you say that? They belong in fortnite, not on an intergalactic alien killing marine super soldier
Yeah I totally agree. Though they are kinda funny and I don’t get overly mad that they are in there they defiantly don’t belong.
lmao, that’s precisely why they belong.
Besides, I don’t think you know soldiers very well. They will put on the dumbest patches, write the dumbest crap on the sides of vehicles, and if they can break uniform regs… They totally will.
Don’t bother LARPerating, lmao.
I really have to wonder, is it SO outlandish that a Spartan - who can customize their armor… Basically however they want, would just, weld on some cat ears?
Because, speaking as a welder, myself? Yeah. I’d totally slap 'em on power armor.
I don’t think he is LARPerating it’s just it (cat ears) doesn’t fit Halo’s style and just doesn’t make sense to be in there because spartens are not really allowed to add non military gear to their armor. Emile from Reach actually got in trouble for carving the skull on his helmet but they let him keep it because it was a good fear tactic.
*Spartan
and like… Who says? Who’s actually gonna’ stop them? Some Marine? Captain Lasky? An AI? ONI? Who’s actually gonna’ stop them? Who can honestly tell a Spartan what to do when it comes to their kit?
Because it’s funny you’d mention Emile’s skull. Remember the Orbital helmet, in Halo 4? The Aeon skin in particular just. Has a skull on it. Square on the visor. No muss, no fuss.
That thing about Emile is largely extended lore tbh. But even now, there’s a bunch of like… Off-kilter kit, that people allow without any gripe.
I mean, the entirety of blue team, is bright blue. What tactical purpose does that serve?
Vale, Tanaka, are red, white. What’s the purpose? There isn’t any. The entirety of Fireteam Majestic was just straight up blue.
There are no real regulations to what a Spartan can wear. I mean ffs, look at the entirety of the Rakshasa core. Half of that stuff is appropriated banished tech, skulls, enemy armor… Nobody’s regulating that.
I don’t want to get in an argument so I will kindly answer all of those questions.
1.The UNSC gives the gear to the spartens. Depending on your role that decides what you get. A sniper isn’t gonna wear Jorges armor. So the UNSC stops the spartens from adding to armor by giving them the armor they want them to have.
2.Halo 4’s orbital helmet has a skull to as stated have a fear tactic. It is actually a tactical advantage unlike cat ears.
3.Colors are used to make spartens recognizable. You can only make so many combos. Also they are used as identifiers like how blue team has mostly a blue color scheme. Same for some other teams in the books.
4.The wolves use imporvised equipment because that is in their job description. The made specific rules for them because wolves are provided with just bare essentials so they need to scavenge to survive. Also the UNSC can just take of unwanted parts off their armor whenever they want.
1: Spartan, spell it correctly, and please source these claims.
That’s so funny that you believe that. Source please.
Cat ears make things fairly identifiable.
lol no they can’t, who’s going to enforce that
Source these claims or stop writing fanfiction.
1.Well in the first place I don’t technically need to source this because it is common military procedure to wear the equipment given so why would the Halo universe be excluded? But if you really want a source in the early Halo books it says about how the armor was given to them but a scene talking about them having a choice was excluded. Yes you may get say in it a little but they are gonna give you the best armor for the job you perform.
Well if you look at the armor design the skull was clearly put on there by the designers of that armor so obviously it was put on there for a fear tactic.
But they have never been used to identify a spartan before so why should they be used now.
You just have to use reasoning. If other spartans are not allowed to do that and the lone wolves are obviously there has to be special rules for that.

So you have no idea that most soldiers buy additions to their kit then, cool. Ask soldiers! Ask soldiers what they do. You will find a LOT of guys in active service who will purchase new or different optics for their weapons. You really do not know what you’re talking about.
Ah yes. Spartan IIs. When the program was a secret and everything was standardized.
Before Spartan IVs, who are just, average people in the UNSC who got the chance to be something more.

Why shouldn’t they? That’s a better question. Why should we recognize Dinh because he wears appropriated Sangheili armor? We never have before.
Do you realize Spartans have been canonically customizing their armor as they see fit for the last 15 years?
Do you seriously not comprehend how operators will legitimately customize their kit and loadout?
Did you know that some soldiers will literally file loads of paperwork just to have a nonstandard sidearm? You may be issued something, but you can absolutely use something of your choice.
You do not know anything about the military and it shows.
All of this just over the question were cat ears good in Halo…I said no it didn’t fit the style of Halo and no operator would actually wear that in real combat. I don’t want to get in an argument because this topic doesn’t really matter and It was created for fun. I do agree soldiers can customize some aspects of their kit but like you said they have to do loads of paper work to pass certain regulations. I have given my evidence and proven it with the best of my ability but I stand by it but I don’t want to get in an argument over something that doesn’t need to be argued over. I am glad you stated your opinion and you had some valid points so thanks for the contribution to this topic and have a great rest of your day.
No operator would wear a helmet that is on fire either, yet here we are.
