Cat ears have shown that og halo fans have lost the fight

Ha this is so true I forgot about that. Man what a disappointment.

OG Halo fans lost the fight? I’m an OG Halo fan and have been enjoying Infinite. I feel like I won the fight if anything.

Holy crap right?! It’s like people take the free universal maps in MCC for granted. Every other title was literally gating maps behind money and that is way worse imo. Every time a map pack came out the new maps playlist would be unplayable after like 3 months and then you barely ever got to play stuff you played for.

I don’t care if people buy crazy cosmetics if it means I get a modern Halo for free. Reach took the franchise full on goofy with the exploding hearts a long time ago, so I don’t know what we’re even arguing about in this thread tbh.

I would argue that a spartan would do it. Just not a II or III

well, when the playerbase falls off, whales buying cosmetics or no, game will not make it passed one year… the big issue with F2P games is that the playerbase is the lifeblood of said game, without players then there’s no real point for anyone to stick around and buy anything since there’s not a playerbase left to show off your shiny skins to…

This is probably the only way to make the complaints heard loud and clear so that 343i prioritizes fixing this mess… to a degree I’m kinda glad people are just leaving to play other things. Competition means go big or go home, even IF Halo is a big name title, that just isn’t enough to carry it to success anymore. Even IF voting with your wallet doesn’t really matter, voting with your time does, that’s one thing I’d encourage people who are frustrated by this to do…

My guess is that they’ll come back once some core issues are fixed

I’d also encourage this to show them that we DO care to give the game a chance once it actually works and isn’t a pain to grind or feel like it’s trying to manipulate you to play with FOMO… I just honestly wish 343i (and the AAA industry as a whole tbh) would stop with the release now and fix later attitude, it’s like every single game these days is a 5-10 year early access that doesn’t get feature complete until it is no longer really relevant anymore…

Doesn’t matter, tbh… Once Monster Hunter Rise comes out on PC in 2 weeks I’m probably gonna be playing that along with trying to finish the Halo Campaign… most likely not gonna be playing as much of the Halo Infinite MP until performance patches come into play…

Honestly, I don’t think that catears is too far out there and even Bungie was no stranger to making some helmets that were silly.

It is disappointing seeing that so many people are willing to spend 10 bucks on them though. Just makes me feel like the days of earning cosmetics through gameplay are over as people are willing to spend asinine amounts of money on digital cosmetics.
Why would 343 give players the ability to earn them if other players are willing to spend so much on something that’s ultimately trivial? Yeah I might not be buying cosmetics but the player next to me might’ve spent 100+ dollars just to customize their spartan.

The Unicorn helmet was made by 343, not Bungie. It’s a separate thing.

So you support bad monetization? Again, Splitgate has done f2p better yet gets called “inferior.”

Thanks for singling out one of the dozen things I listed, for seemingly no reason.

Imagine of the full Meowjolnir Mark II was released if people are reacting just over “ears” lol:

Still annoying that Doom Eternal had a fully blown Unicorn themed Set of armor for Doom of all games, and no one gave a crap. But they released Ears, just ears, for a Spartan Helmet and people are whining and crying like little brats… Lol

Talk about Pathetic…

I feel like all the people who are upset that others are enjoying the goofy cosmetics are forgetting Bungie literally had Spartans exploding in a blast of cartoon hearts in Reach. Like… come on, Halo MP has always had goofyness to it.

Halo has been goofy as heck since it began, who cares that we’re getting variety in the goofyness now?

(Also I’m an OG fan who’s enjoying the F2P model. $10 BP has me with plenty to unlock and my spartan looking great)

These are spartan 4s. You got some of them walking around in pink and purple. Who cares about cat ewrs. Grow up and back away from all thag edge, its embarrassing. OG Halo fan here believing that the cat ewrs are fine as it is.

Because if you offer critisism on something in the present, you need to put in a disclaimer about previous stuff from a decade+ ago…

As far as I remember, Halo 3’s flaming head was contained to devs only. I never actually even saw any.
Katanas, disliked.

Emile’s skull helmet was actually something that fit in.
Others like the Inheritor helmet and the effects, not really.

Fotus? Armor, not liked either.

There’s one thing which matter in these things, rarity.
Many of the items were limited in some way.
Flaming helmets have been dev or legendary edition restricted.
Inheritor helmet wasn’t common as you needed to grind a lot to get it. The other effects weren’t that liked, because they were very common.

Fotus was console edition limited, and that too not all too common.

I really do not mind the occasional fun thing. A grunt birthday explosion on one player every ten games was one thing, seeing the Pizza AR skin on three or more players every game something else entirely.

We’re not even one month post release and we’ve got cat ears, flower footsteps, flaming helmets, shoulders and footprints? Or some effect with that. Additionally kill effects.

They’re omitting world building. Instead of making flower power foot steps and cat ears, they could’ve done some world building with new skins, coats and so forth, make new things which would work.
Like lava world coats and skins being bright orange and black. Write small stories on them, maybe a picture or two.

Doubling down haed on goofy stuff risk the game venturing very far away from it’s artistic identity.
Think it was Siege which did that, or one of the CoDs, which started out serious but became a rainbow of cosmetics, losing everything it had in visual design.

Call me a freakish outlier, but…

I don’t care for the cat ears…not my thing…but I TOTALLY don’t let it ruin my life.
But as far as cosmetics go, I say until it starts impacting gameplay stats, BRING ON THE CLOWN SHOW.
Who effin’ CARES?
If you want the thing YOU choose to wear to STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD, there had better be a whole lot of unique options to choose from, or customizations will be completely pointless.
Imagine if all you had to choose from were 10 different armor colors?..oh wait…they DID that…in Every Halo Game before Reach. …and how awesome were you?..in your Orange Mk5?..next to the other 2 orange guys in your fireteam?

PS- I rocked Pestilence in Halo Reach like a frat boy in a Lambo.

Only if someone acts like the OP and pretends that Halo never had dumb armor and that something like cat ears are something ground breaking.

I’m assuming you are talking about weather you liked the armors or not. Neat. Nobodies’ personal preferences change the fact that these armors were still in the game.

The fishbowl helmet alone was already a meme. A fishbowl helmet with that is scratched up to make it harder to see through is even dumber.

Everyone flaming helmet unlocked in Halo 3 and MCC.
Even the blue flames became unlocked for everyone in Reach and MCC.
So not the least bit rare. Rarity aside, this silly stuff was still in the game

Liked or disliked. Rare or common. These items were still in the game and just as silly as the cat ears.

Became common when the with the game of the year edition of Halo 4 and was auto unlocked in MCC.
Lets also not forget the “scary” locus helmet.

So the new Mark VII armors and Yoroi armors do not add any world building?

Sure. I do not see a reason not to have this.

That ship sailed a long time ago in Reach when a lot of people either burst into “YAY confetties,” Had hearts popping out of them, and were surrounded in a green fart cloud or lightning.

Respectfully, get over yourself. Have you ever considered the remote possibility that people actually LIKE the cat ears? It’s different from anything we’ve gotten in Infinite, or any Halo game. So people are going to buy it. At least people aren’t wasting money on a product they don’t like, such as in Fortnite.
