Worth noting that this is a fan creation but yes, imagine?
It’s a sad day when DOOM fans are better than us.

That’s because Splitgate isn’t a real competitor and never will be. At the highest level of play it’s JUST portal peeking. Splitgate basically isn’t a real game.
Halo players come from Consoles. Doom Players come from PCs with all kinds of custom mods that put all these cosmetics to shame.
I’m not going to sit here and say I love Splitgate, never even played it.
But come on, saying Splitgate isn’t a real game is just ridiculous and is only going to lead to toxic responses and conversation.
Longer thoughts:
If Sony were smart they’d get Splitgate 2 contracted as a PS5 exclusive. Seems like Infinite is bringing Arena shooters back into relevancy somewhat for newer gamer generations that never really played much Halo, Quake, Unreal, or HL:DM (etc) since they haven’t really been around in modern gaming much. Infinite’s plateau looks like it will be far above MCC in the long run (crazy), and Splitgate’s playerbase has also gone up since Infinite released. Arena shooters may be carving out a slice of the gaming pie again
Splitgate is a great shooter.
I’ve been playing Halo since CE. I was following Halo back when it was an RTS and not an FPS. Cat ears are fine.
Splitgate has solid gameplay, but it has the same pricey cosmetics situation as Infinite, the items rotate in and out in a similar fashion, and a Battle Pass system that from my understanding still operates on the “Battle Passes Expire” model. I’m not sure how it does F2P better than Infinite.
You can get the currency by logging in for one thing.
Let me pop open SplitGate to check if they changed the log-in rewards. Ok, you still get 100 per week. Most of the items are over 1000 Splitcoin. That means over 2 months of a log-in streak if you want to get some of the more premium items for absolutely free. And if you miss a day you can repair your streak for 50 splitcoin, which just puts you farther away from your goal…
So yeah, you get the primo currency for free, but it’s a small trickle of it, and by the time you have enough for a weapon skin or a primo bundle, is that thing you wanted in the store rotation? You might have to wait even longer…
Suffice to say, it’s not really better than what Infinite is doing aside from being able to “earn” an expiring Battle Pass over a couple months straight of just logging in, and getting free cosmetic items every few months after that.
I just wish we could hide certain cosmetics like you can in MCC. If I’m already having a bad game, I don’t want to see a giant flaming skull when I get beamed again, it’s not going to brighten my mood. Same goes for the toxic players that -Yoink!- relentlessly while flaunting the cat ears they bought. It’s not a fun experience.
I have been waiting for some kind of cat ears since Halo Reach
I agree. I came to Halo for a scifi space shooter. Not play time dress up
i agree with the one who made this post and dead cassette, i hate those cat ears too, so annoying and anti halo, so annoying how it looked like in store, that was my first impression that it was a cash grab, im here too to play a fun and cool game, not to play a girly app store cash grab dress up make up cash grab
OP implying that I, an OG Halo Fan since 2002, should not wear Cat Ears even though it makes my Spartan more menacing.
Well, you are apparently scaring them
lol
Well, when a Spartan wearing Warmaster with a Flaming Head, Scorpion Punch, and Cat Ears rounds the corner and takes out you and your buddy you were rolling with; scared is one of the only responses you can expect.
Nobody with VFX is menacing.
Someone clearly hasn’t played Halo Reach.
Why was this thread necrobumped
OG Halo fan here. I like the cat ears and have a disposable income that I don’t mind dishing out a few bucks from to buy some armor I think looks neat.
