Cat Ears are a disappointment

You wouldn’t have survived the H2/H3 era.

How wouldn’t he? I don’t recall anything that silly… other than some wierd physics tricks

They have a clown mongoose coating so it has already been done and it’s pretty nice but to your post, there is nothing wrong with having cat ears its something new and it seems it has worked. Games evolve and change with time and new things should be introduced. If you like the ears get them if you don’t look the other way and continue on.

shame we don’t have a model that turns the warthog into a humvee :stuck_out_tongue:

Eh, convergent ideas. I had an idea for a wolf helmet when I was a wee kid, and expanded upon it recently - aural and olfactory sensors that help with tracking. Kind of like Linda’s helmet - but nonvisual sensory. But, visualized, by a suit-board AI.

I… was there, lmao. Do… Do you think we gallivant about in weird voices or something…? You wouldn’t believe how many furries you’ve met and didn’t know tbh.

She thank you.

Picky picky (Everybody is a boy on the internets)

i meant the cat ears as hearing enhancers ,but yeah i’d like a wolf thing too since we’ve had wolf logos since halo 3

Not me! Well it depends. Sometimes.

Well yeah, aural!

I love the cat ears tbh, they still look like they fit with the armor. Its not like they have fur and stuff on them. They’re still blocky and made of armor stuff.

The Yoroi armor is to provide us with some strange and new designs. Since 343 decided to give us armor cores to use as a baseline for a Halo Reach style of cosmetic alterations, it makes sense that they would want more variety.

The Yoroi armor is but one set of Fractures armor cores that we are going to receive. They do not exist in the main canon of the lore, instead being a fracture in the multiverse and allowing players to see a glimpse at an alternate reality of Halo. Yoroi being the armor worn by elite Samurai in an alternate universe where japanese culture was the one that persisted across humanity rather than a more europeanized culture we see in the UNSC.

Without the Fractures event stuff, the armor cores will be mostly restricted to the Mark IV, Mark V, Mark V Bravo, Mark VI, Mark VII, and an ODST stylized armor. Perhaps we would see an “Orion” or SPI armor down the line. Fractures just adds variety while not losing any style-points like the majority of the other armors from Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians.

As for the cat ears? These cosmetics are fun gimmicks that are added to the game to provide a goofy factor. Most of the attachments and armor set-pieces are serious. I see the cat-ears to be an upgrade to what we got in Halo 5 in he form of Timmy and Olive. Instead of two goofy helmets, we instead get an attachment that can go on ALL Mark VII helmets.

Honestly, I cannot wait until 343 adds cat ears to ALL armor cores instead of just the Mark VII.

ODst is Not supersoildier armor…

…yes it is.

ODST Armor started off as the original design for what the Master Chief would be wearing. But Bungie redesigned him from the ground up because he looked “too mean”.

Later on in Halo 2 when they first introduced the ODSTs in the games, they reused the scrapped design for Master Chief.

And whenever you look at ODST cosmetics in Halo 3, Halo Reach, or Halo Infinite even; the game describes the helmet as “Assets from the MJOLNIR program that were made more cost effective and given to the ODST Corps.”
Literally the iconic ODST helmet is a MJOLNIR Mark V design.

That doesn’t change what it is now…

I’d love to see clown spartans

Yeah but grapple hook is…

Summary

They are just copying what all the other major players in the industry are doing because for some reason a portion of gamers think cosmetics are cool, no matter how wacky or stupid they look. That they somehow become must have items, especially if they slap on the meaningless labels you see in nearly every mp shooter (common, uncommon, legendary, epic etc) as if that makes them actually worth something when all they are is digital nothings.

I only purchase content if it’s actually worth buying, like say a map pack or an expansion. I draw the line at purchasing skins that can only be used in multiplayer / online and have no use outside of that, plus cosmetics in a first person game is just dumb…all you end up seeing is gun skins and your character say when you win / lose or die.

I don’t know when this obsession with customising everything started but it’s utter garbage.

The only time i might customize a character would be in an rpg which i don’t play anymore or a mil sim game but i prefer games where i can just dive straight in and shoot enemies and not bother with what my player looks like.

I don’t think players realise that customizing their character to look out of place, wacky, dumb just invites others to troll you in mp or the player dressed like a loon is the one who’s not playing properly and is just there to trigger others.

Imo it all went wrong when the games started saying “anything goes” cosmetic wise. It’s basically like a “f it” mentalitity. People are buying the stupid looking skins so they must like em, make more!

Ughh…

not fitting in with the lore is only part of the prolem, main issue is 99% of in-game cosmetics look awful, cost too much and just terrible ideas.

the other problem is players whining on forums, steam etc about these crappy skins costing too much. If you have to ask that, then you are playing the wrong game.

Plenty of other trash games out there with even dumber looking cosmetics.

overwatch
valorant
raid shadow legends
fortnite
rainbow six siege
call of duty

personally, if no one can afford them, good, that means less players wearing the stuff. lol…

Wonder if 343i will get on ID’s level with customization. ID created an entire Unicorn Armor for the Doom Slayer, as seen in the link below:
