One Spartan’s tattoo is another Spartan’s skull scratched into their visor is another Spartans cat’s ears.
Maybe they love cats. Maybe they hate cats. Maybe they called their squad the Hell’s kitties.
It could be just how that bit of equipment functions… and the resemblance to a cat is purely co-incidental.
Or maybe the designers had a bet that they could create a silly bit of armour and that a Spartan would actually wear it into battle.

Okay. Way to try to get political when the entire post is about the integrity of the game. This isn’t some stupid -Yoink!- anime that 14 year olds get off to.
Cool! I’m a furry. Have been since about 2004. Most of my friends are Furries, both of my girlfriends are furry artists even.
But heeeere’s the thing, buckeroo… You can’t ignore us now. We’ve violently welded on our pointy little ears (Oh yeah, my first of the two girls and I are both welding students so we could legit do that), and every time you see us on your team, you get to grimace and deal with it. Just wait until they add pride banners, you’ll be seeing that everywhere too.
Come to think of it, I now understand why Friendly Fire is off.
So your only choice is to play with us, or leave the game :3

Okay, I get the “maintain the integrity of halo” or whatever you want to spin it as, there should be limits, but I don’t think it’s too far fetched for a spartan to spend their paycheck on what could easily be BS’ed as a sensor upgrade or something with a little (lot) of flair.
Military personal being weebs is pretty practical, I mean, have you seen tankers?
There’s also the argument to be made that we now have peppermint spartans and we’re going to have a rainbow cyber mohawk coming, which depending on personal opinions could be worse, or just the lesser of two evils.
OHO MY GODS YEAH TANKERS ARE JUST SO FAR BEYOND CHILL.
The stuff they’ll draw on their tanks with chalk, you can NOT post that stuff anywhere, haha! Gods…!
And yeah just straight up there’s no reason for the ears to not be like, Aural Sensors that are finely tuned to help a Spartan hear things they normally wouldn’t, give sound to frequencies that they’d normally be deaf to.

Halo legends, it featured different animation studios pitching in to make short halo stories akin to Star wars visions.

Yeah i was thinking of that it did look a little like anime style of animation, I saw that one i knew where the bear came from. though that thing would be shot up by gunfire and melted by covenant plasma weapons so… yeaah.
