I am part of the MLG community and we bash you guys and you guys bash us.

We bash you guys because SOME and I repeat SOME not all, you guys ask the Halo developer to do outrages things like add sprint and SOME of our community feel like you guys do not know what makes Halo special and destroying what it is.

You guys bash us for over thinking and sometimes our elitist attitudes. I’m sure there is more things you guys bash us on.

This is a very important question.

Why can we not come together as a single HALO community?

This will help Halo grow in a positive way. Who agrees?

> Why can we not come together as a single HALO community?

This is why:

> We bash you guys because SOME and I repeat SOME not all, you guys ask the Halo developer to do outrages things like add sprint and SOME of our community feel like you guys do not know what makes Halo special and destroying what it is.

I suppose you like to think that you “know what makes Halo special”. And no doubt you have never stopped to consider that you are, as an MLG player, inherently biased in your opinion.

I’m not really sure if it’s possible for casuals and competitives to come together and form a single community, but if 343 does it right then they might be able to make Halo 4 like Halo 3 in the sense that it has a large appeal to both competitives and casuals.

Stopped reading at “Outrages like sprint”. That was one of the few good things that Reach added. Just because you and your MLG group don’t like it, doesn’t mean that it should not be in it.

> Why can we not come together as a single HALO community?

Because the out-of-the-box settings and the optimal competitive settings have gotten farther and farther apart with each Halo game. That just divides the communities.

Hmm, “casuals” are bashed regularly (not always by MLG)also there are some conflicting opinions, so I really don’t see this happening.

Nope. Sprint breaks the game just as much as any other AA.

I stopped reading when you said that adding sprint is outrageous, LMAO.

Both sides knows what made Halo unique.

I’m sure both sides would agree Halo was special because of its simplistic, yet addictive gameplay and amazing story. With Halo 3, we got introduce to a butt load of custom options so we can play any gametype we wanted.

I think most Mlg players are stuck up, and so consumed by pride that they think they know best about halo. I’ll be -Yoink!- if I sit back and let mlg do all the talking. It certainly doesn’t take an mlg player to know what halo is. You guys aren’t anywhere above us. You have no decent argument for dismissing sprint in a Halo game.

I think most of y’all are stuck in 2007, Halo 3 lol. I think sprint is the best addition to Reach. I’m tired of arguing about sprint. You being an Mlg player means Jack squat about what you know about Halo.

This claim seems at odds with the tone of your original post.

At the end of the day, MLG players will find another game if they don’t like Halo, whereas fans of Halo (as opposed to fans of first-person shooters in general) will play Halo or nothing at all.

I stopped reading at “I am part of the MLG community”.

Our whole community have a good argument against sprint. And ever single armor abilities that provides movement.

See you are bashing us right now for saying we are stuck up and stuck in 2007.

Believe it or not but most of the MLG community are casuals first then Competitive second.

We play Halo for fun just like you guys.

That is SO far away from the truth than you will ever realize.

Funny thing is, it’d be outrageous if they added sprint

Really? Then why is that when I run into someone claiming to be from the “MLG” community, they’re nothing but smart-mouthed, immature try-hards that quit games when thing aren’t going their way?

> That is SO far away from the truth than you will ever realize.

In that case, I would start categorising yourself as a competitive Halo gamer, rather than an MLG gamer in general.

I disagree, the rise of CoD dominating the casual fan base and the deterioration of Halo’s competitive gameplay has ultimately led to Halos decline in recent years. The casual players will always choose other games over Halo because they are easier, the hardcore fans will stay with Halo and have even with Reach because we see Halo as our sport and not just a game. Look at why older franchises (8+years) like CS,Rainbow Six, UT, WoW,SC are still relevant its because of the hardcore communties that keep them alive and see them as more than just videogames. Once the bandwagoners leave which they have with Halo, you are only going to have your core fanbase which keeps the game going.

Once the hardcore fanbase deteriorates so goes the game, look at UT and EQ for proof of that. The same is now true with WoW and Halo who have lost a good chunk of their populations and many would say that is because they stopped catering to their hardcore fanbases and started relying on casuals too much.

Ignorance is bliss my friend. I have really nothing else to say this thread is just a flame war and not worth my time.

The same can be said about ALL communities in ALL games.

What is a try-hard?

Someone who wants to win. Someone who actually care about improving at a game. Seriously that term needs to die.
