Casual player says 343i has CSR wrong

343i,

I am a causal player and you can tell from my stats that I have not set a virtual foot inside the Team Throwdown list.

I have lots of causal play lists to choose from.

However, I believe that lumping CTF, Slayer and Extraction all under the one banner of Team Throwdown is wrong. If one wants to concentrate on getting a 50 in CTF exclusively before say moving onto getting a 50 in SLayer, they can’t.

Is there even separate 50s for CTF, Slayer and Extraction OR is it just a 50 for the overall Team Throwdown play list?

One would have thought that all the rules and information would be released prior to Monday’s launch of CSR!

Now,if these things have been on my mind and I’m just a casual player, God knows what competitive players must be thinking.

343i, if you aren’t setting out the full rules for CSR and Team Throwdown in this coming Bulletin…hold the Press and do so…

BTW:

We at our stats page on waypoint have separate stats for CTF, Slayer and so on. Will there now be two sections for Slayer, two for CTS etc that is, one causal and one CSR?

Every single playlist will have a 1-50, but Team Throwdown will be the most desired 50 because it is the most competitive playlist and requires the greatest overall skill.

Ummm…every single play list will have 1-50?

Really?

So,where is the divide between casual/social play lists and completive/pro play lists.

My understanding, from 343i, was that Team Throwdown is the competitive/CSR list and, over time, other game types, other than CTF, SLayer and Extratcion, would be added.

So, you mean to tell me that there is now going to be no social/casual play lists and CSR…completive skill ranking is being forced upon everyone because of the small in number/minority competitive players?

I don’t like the sound of this at all…

Hey 343 can I turn my visible CSR off with this TU? I would really like to just not have that hanging over my head. I’m a horrible player and always will be, but damn if I don’t love rushing a team and going all lord of rings berserker. Only I can’t because I’m dumb for caring about my pokemon card. I choose you Dezario!!! PIKA PIKA

If you were competitive and cared about your skill rank, you wouldnt be rushing into the middle of the map. Go play a casual playlist if youre too emotional to handle a little trash talk.

Haha, people like you really bother me. “If I try, I should succeed. It’s not about winning, it’s about having fun. Everyone should get a trophy, not just the winners who won it.” Communism.

The CSR is not visible in-game so you don’t have to worry about people seeing your low ranking, or how bad you are at competing. You won’t have to worry about being bullied and people laughing at you.

If 343 actually put the time and effort that they have used to putting the CSR in Halo 4, into a REAL ranking system like Halo 3’s, then they would need to make separate playlists. This real ranking system would actually matter and vastly improve the game, while still catering to sensitive people like you who think they should get a 50 like everyone else without earning it. This way, you can still play social playlists and not worry about your ranking number. Perhaps they can simply add a “toggle rank” so you can choose not to show it. Done. Both sides win.

The CSR will still improve matches. So even though you and I both don’t care for it for very different reasons, it will still benefit the game and us as players.

And for the record, I have never had a 50 rank before. I certainly would still love the chance to TRY and see how well I can do, while comparing myself to other players…whether I am better or worse.

And for the record, your claim that the “minority competitive” players are the only ones who want a ranking system is not backed by any real data. How do you base that to be able to say the “minority” wants it only? I would bet that if many of the new players to Halo, who did not play Halo 3 simply DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING in terms of the real ranking system. Every single player I came across in Reach hated the Arena and how it sucked compared to Halo 3’s system. I would literally be playing RIGHT NOW if there was a real ranking system.

Ahh that would be so true if people actually talked. Still want to turn it off. You get what you want and I get what I want. Only you seem to be the only one unhappy about that. Talk about a double standard.

I thought Team Throwdown is the only CSR playlist. They never mentioned I never read/seen/heard about other playlists having CSR.

I may be wrong but,I presume that your making fun at me.

Yes, you have an overall KD 1.59 (me 1.17) and Slayer 1.67 (me 1.84). I don’t care that those stats are visible. Hell,I don’t care if the CSR will be visible in-game or just on Waypoint.

But, one thing I know for sure, while I might not be a great player I’m certainly not as bad as you imply me to be.

Its just that making 343 put a toggle on every little thing in the game is probably a lot of work. People were asking for a sprint toggle just for customs. Did 343 do it? No. Based on what 343 has done with the game, certain features are either in all the way, or they arent in at all(Besides theatre and the file browser which were half-finished when the game was released).

This game could have been so much better if it had split the playlists in to Ranked and Social like in halo 3. Then both communities could be happy in their own playlists instead of being mashed together into one big cluster -Yoink-.

Oh my friend you have know idea how much I hate the internet in that you can’t hear the nuances of my speech and know that in no way am I mocking you. I am talking about me. I really want to turn off my stats. It’s in no reflection a dig at you. I actually agree whole heartily on your opening statement.

LMFAO…Capitalist!

For the record, I am happy my lowly overall KD 1.17 is visible and my lowly Slayer KD 1.84 is visible.

For the record, I’ll be happy to have my low CSR visible.

Yes, you have a good overall KD and an average Slayer KD. Looked at you Spree medals…meh…nothing to right home about.

I’m causal, sure. I’ll even enter the Team Throwdown lists once I know that CSR is working correctly and have read the forums to see if poeple think it is worth the time and effort. If it is, I’ll give it a go and I don’t care if I get a 50 or 15. I actually love competition and have fun doing so. However, thus far,I’m just a casual Halo 4 player until I can be convinced its worth giving the competitive side a go.

As I have no team nor friends on my list, I wouldn’t dare enter the Team Throwdown list, I’m not that stupid and don’t want to be a hindrance to other players.

> Ahh that would be so true if people actually talked. Still want to turn it off. You get what you want and I get what I want. Only you seem to be the only one unhappy about that. Talk about a double standard.

Only if I’m able to turn off progressive rank.

So wait will this be like how it was in halo 3 except you don’t see your rank because every playlist in halo 3 had like a 1-50 thing or was it just for ranked?

I apologize for offending you in any way…sorry.

CSR won’t even be accurate if JIP is enabled and it’s mainly based off of win/losses.

Man I would never deny you the option.
