343 listened to the casual gamers and have made Halo 4 into a casual gamer game, just like CoD. This has ruined the Halo series, 343 listened to the wrong community and in return they are getting low playlist population numbers. The casual gamers that 343 listened to have left for Black Ops 2, while the competitive community is still playing Halo 4 but we are disappearing soon… just like in Reach.
Casual gamers turned this series into what has become the worst Halo game at launch.
Thank you casual gamers, thank you a lot.
Yeah, I agree that they should not have changed the game and just left it like the Halo we all love. Let’s hope Halo 5 get’s it right.
why do people like you enjoy calling people “casuals” or “competitives”? in the end your a gamer…
> Define “casual gamers”.
Taken from Wikipedia…
Casual gamer
A casual gamer is a type of video game player whose time or interest in playing games is limited compared with a hardcore gamer. Casual gamers can conceivably consist of any people who show more than a passing interest in video games; therefore, it is difficult to categorize them as a group. For this reason, games which attempt to appeal to the casual player tend to strive for simple rules and ease of game play, the goal being to present a pick-up-and-play experience that people from almost any age group or skill level could enjoy.
If by ‘ruined the series’, you mean ‘continue to pay all of its bills and funding its further development’, then yes.
No casuals = No sales = No more Halo.
> why do people like you enjoy calling people “casuals” or “competitives”? in the end your a gamer…
No… there is a definition for each word that you are referring to. Look up the definition if you are unaware of the difference between a casual gamer and a competitive gamer.

So basically 95% of Halo players.
-
“Casual” gamer is a meaningless term.
-
There would be no Halo “series” if not for the large fanbase which is made up of the “less serious” gamers.
You should be thanking them if anything. Games with tens of millions in budget (Halo 2 on up) don’t get made without a willing population to pay for them.
Carry on…

Worst halo game at launch? These numbers sure tell a different story.
You’re singing the same tune as gamers were when H3 came out and Halo Reach.

A casual gamer is a gamer who never stays long, and wants to play ‘easy’ games.
Halo needs to cater towards skilled and competitive players. People don’t stay at games that are easy, or have no incentive to play. This is why games like H2 and H3 were successful. 1-50 ranking system kept people so they would keep trying to rank up. A difficult legendary campaign also kept players. H4 has neither a competitive aura, nor is the campaign as hard as H2’s.
Why do you think old games like Mario have crazy fanboys? Back in the day, the games were hard, and they had many glitches, and hidden easter eggs/etc.
People like challenges, not “balanced” gameplay.

And look what has happened… Each release is getting worse and more casual. The game is getting less and less competitive. These past two games they didn’t even have a ranking system…
Do we really want Halo to turn into what Call of Duty was and still is?
I like it, my friends like it. That’s all that matters to me, I could really care less if the rest of you left. I’ve been with Halo since day one. I am a fan boy and even though I am one I still feel this game is great. I play many types of games if you saw my gamerscore you’d see that and there are a lot of crap games out there. But to say Halo 4 is crap is just poor judgement and whiny. Halo 4 takes a lot from COD but it’s still Halo. That’s what counts.

Halo CE, Halo 2 and even Halo 3 still has population of competitive gamers playing. Casual gamers left those games in the dust and moved on to easier games. But that is not the point.
The point is that because CoD has been such a casual gamer game, anyone can go into the game and go 30-5 first game, 343 and Microsoft thought it was a good idea to do so also. Greed took over and they listened to what the casual gamers wanted. They didn’t listen to what competitive gamers have been talking about ever since Halo 2’s launch. In return we got what Halo 4 is… which is a less competitive game than Halo 3. Halo 3 was a less competitive game than Halo 2 and Halo 2 is a less competitive game than Halo CE… catch my drift?

Hardcore gamer
Hardcore gamers prefer to take significant time and practice on games, and tend to play more involved games that require larger amounts of time to complete or master. Hardcore gamers may take part in video game culture such as competitions, events and conventions. Competitions are another defining characteristic of hardcore gamers, who often compete in organized tournaments, leagues, or ranked play integrated into the game proper, an example of this is Major League Gaming, an Electronic sports organization that often holds events for hardcore First-person shooter games such as Quake. There are many subtypes of hardcore gamers based on the style of game, gameplay preference, hardware platform, and other preferences.

I’m not sure what that has to do with my post…
You have an opinion, to be sure, but that’s all it is.

Its more than an opinion, it is a reason why the Halo 4 population is declining. People are having less and less reasons to play Halo 4 and making it making it easier to get bored in.
343 is losing the population and they need to act fast before everyone really leaves this game.
