Carters Suicide

Why Did Carter Kill Himself To Destroy One Scarab It Makes No Sense Could’nt Six And Amile Taken It Out With Ease

Pretty sure he’s already mortally wounded
I.E. Blood splatter on the window, him struggling to talk
Also, the AI saying seek immediate medical attention

it was a sacrifice play, he was already dying and quickly dispatching the scarab allowed six and Emil to race by.
as it was the pillar of autumn barely made it off world in time.

Carter was going to die and the ground team would never take down the Scarab.

Everybody pretty much summed it up, & if you look closely at the beginning of that scene, there appears to be a HUGE hole in the back of Carter’s chair.

I always thought He did it to buy six and emile time. To bring cortana to captain keyes in time.

I didn’t really like the first half of Reach’s campaign but the second half and this part I thought was really cool.

Why not the first half? Reach’s campaign is one of the greatest in the Halo series, second only to Halo 3’s. My opinion, though.

I also liked Reach a lot, one of my favourite Halo campaigns. It always makes me sad playing it as I progress through the story.

I think he could’ve jumped out, or distracted the scrab with the pelican instead. He didn’t have to die, as far as I know in Med packs there is biofoam.

He died giving Emile and Noble 6 a clear path to the Pillar of Autumn. Without his sacrifice, Emile and Noble 6 would have been pinned down in the cave (as the Scarab was on higher ground with no clear way for the two to reach it). Carter was, as previously stated, critically wounded. He was a dead man flying, and taking out the Scarab meant that he could take care of his team one last time and let him die like a Spartan should, not like a dog like Kat did.

Which I’m sure was another underlying emotion, since he becomes far more edgy after her death.

That was I was going to say plus the scarb gun was charging its beam looking 6 and emile

Also Carter wouldn’t have wanted six to risk cortana
