So you guys added 'em in. The “awards” for grabbing certain sets of achievements in various Halo games. The Xbox Waypoint app is mostly acceptably organized for seeing what achievements are required to get which awards and also informing you what “tier” you are at and how many more achievements you need to get to get the next “tier.”
The website version however is absolutely terrible. It’s a list of awards that don’t have any variance. They have dates attached. I assume that the date is the date of acquisition. But the awards aren’t in what I would consider any logical order. An update, so that we can see needed information is required. Give us the basics.
Give us a List of awards (i.e. Vehicle Specialist, Hero, etc.)
Drop down within each award showing the tiers and number of required achievements (i.e Vehicle Specialist has 6 tiers; you are Tier 5, 3 more achievements required for Tier 6)
Highlight achievements gained and tier achieved; grey out achievements needed
Dates of achievement are fine, but this was like the very first thing 343 put out there and it just seems poorly organized
Is there like an awards description somewhere? I have a bunch of awards but all it gives me is the name and date, I don’t even know how i got them.
Funny you posted this, I was just reviewing the same thing and have the same critique.
I find it head-scratching. Usually, building info into a website is pretty easy and manipulating that info is also fairly easy. But in this instance, dedicated apps seem to give better detail and organization than the website. I just find that incongruous and disheartening.
For instance, I’m trying to finish up achievements in all other Halo games before Halo 4 comes out. I looked in the Waypoint app and noted I’m one tier from the top tier in each award category because I had stuff to finish in Halo Wars, Halo: CEA, Halo 3 & Reach. I’ve cleaned out CEA and I’m 400k points from my General on Halo Wars. (Note: I’m glad Ensemble folded and didn’t get to make Halo Wars 2. Another mission like Arcadia City on Legendary and I’d hunt them down myself! [Not really, but damn was that a ridiculous mission!]) But, when I grabbed my laptop to look up how that affected my awards, I couldn’t make heads or tails of which awards I got or what tiers I’m at now.
P.S. 343 feel free to kill “awards” and their tiers. But either fix them or kill them, don’t leave them in this limbo state where we wonder what to make of them.

The descriptions and tiers are all shown in the Waypoint app on Xbox. I don’t see them on my iPhone app. Don’t know about WP7/8 or Android versions of the app.

On the flipside, I typically got to the webpage to view commendation progress as it seems easier to navigate there.

It is much easier to navigate the commendations on the website. It’s like little bits of the whole get attention on various platforms, but 343 just hasn’t put the whole package together for use on ANY platform. Not the way I’d think you’d want to grow your gaming ecosystem.
Agreed. I dont have the phone version, but I constantly switch back and forth between the web version and xbox, depending on what I want to view.
