Carbine = useless

Everyone is talking about nerf this and nerf that. What about buffing this piece of -Yoink-? Its the worst precision gun in the game.

As much as people say that the DMR needs a nerf (I believe a slight one is indeed needed), I feel like the Light Rifle and BR can still go toe-to-toe with it. The Carbine cannot. Its spread and large reticule makes it a pain to use at a distance. But its made for medium range then, right?

Nope. The BR outshines it every time, basically taking its niche from it. And the AR just rips its apart when you try to use its fast ROF in close quarters

I dunno. I love the way this gun shoots, sounds, etc. But it needs to be more useful; at least making it shine in the range its intended to. At the moment this is the -Yoink- child of the precision weapons.

And the suppressor is the -Yoink- child of the automatics…but that, my friends…is a story for another time.

Anyone agree?

I agree, the Carbine could use a small buff to bring it up to par with the rest of the precision weapons. While I can get some kills with it, I do often find myself getting killed by the DMR in ranges at which the Carbine should win.

I have to disagree with you on this, the carbine is my favorite weapon in Halo 4 (just 30 kills away from completing master with it) and I can out Carbine a DMR, BR and a light rifle if I get first shot in, so no I think its fine the way it is, and the range on it is actual better then the BR, I can kill someone from a long distance with it no problem, it has no recoil, and pretty much no bloom which makes it the ideal weapon IMO.

You just haven’t figured out how to use it properly yet. There’s a situation,distance , range and time to use this weapon. It’s up to you to figure it out though.

No way man. I’m a pretty good player and I get destroyed by a good carbine user up close when I’m not missing shots and start shooting first. Its just not a noob friendly weapon because there is no space for error.

Eh, I guess I’ll give it another try. But I’m a pretty decent player. I usually land most of my shots and at the moment the Carbine feels too weak. Its almost like peoples’ shield eat Carbine rounds. Also, I have yet to get destroyed by a Carbine user while I have a BR. And if I have a DMR? Forget it…they better hope they hit me with a grenade or something.

Carbine… I remember seeing that name before.

DMR, DMR, DMR, what is a Carbine??

It’s a great rifle, I wouldn’t mind a slight buff, but it’s a beast in rapid fire, so I can see why they didn’t, or the DMR would be the least of everyone’s problem.

It’s spread was much worse in Halo 3 and the BR’s crosshair is far more inhibiting.

Yea, the ROF on the Carbine is amazing. I really like it and I believe thats what 343i was trying to use to balance it with the other 3. But unless I have the worst connection in the world…it does feel too weak.

And as someone mentioned before; that it had no recoil. Thats a good thing, definitely. But how big is the reticule? How big is the spread? Pretty big for both…making that “last” headshot from a distance, a pain; even if your aim is spot on. Even the BR (which I believe is suppose to be its counter-part in the mid-range) can pull off easier heashots past its intended range.

It doesn’t need a HUGE buff or anything though. IMHO, I either recommend giving it a SLIGHT damage boost OR raising the aim assist on it a bit, to make up for its lack of power with ease of use.
