I suse the Cacrbine a ot, it’s my favorite weapon, i just feel way undermatched agesnt the DMR, BR and even the LR. it takes about 8-9 shots just to kill a guy, and that’s if you can land each shot. i think it should be beefed up to 6-7 shots.
BR= 5 pulls to kill
Lr= 5-6 shots to kill Unscoped
DMR= 5 shots to kill
So why not? it will make it a lot more balanced and matched to to BR and DMR
with the DMR i can get a triple kill with one clip, fully sheilded.
soo lemme know what you think. thanks
The Carbine, my weapon of choice (check my stats) is bordering on overpowered. I am able to out shoot any and everyone I come across in a 1v1 engagements. The Carbine, however, requires the most skill to shoot as it requires you to be able to make quick trigger pulls while maintaining a reticule on the enemy.
Furthermore the Carbine has the least auto aim of all the starter weapons.
I would just take it down one shot to kill, then it would still take more shots but be less of a freaking hassle to use…
While we are here, I would also mention that getting the plasma pistol commendation is impossible.
Agreed. With all these whiners complaining about the DMR, the Carbine is kinda hiding its issues from the spotlight. Buff its damage and it would give the DMR and BR a run for their money.
6, perhaps 7 shots seems most sutiable considering how fast it shoots, but with lag these days, I probably would still have a better chance with the DMR.
I just don’t understand at all. 831 kills with the Carbine. Been the only weapon I’ve used since it was available for purchase. Arguably best starter rifle.
I do like using the Carbine, but it does destroy my fingers firing so fast. I think it should be buffed slightly, as it is nearly impossible to kill someone at long range. What i tend to do is use the Storm Rifle, then switch to the Carbine for the headshot.
It does have a faster killtime than the BR but so did it in Halo 3, but how many times did you see a Carbine beat a BR?
I almost got the mastery commendation with it and even if I am decent with it (I think), I usually end up losing in 1v1 battles against BRs/DMRs unless I land the first few shots. The thing is you can’t “snap shoot” with it like you can with the BR and DMR (shoot, take cover, shoot again) because of the number of shots it takes to kill (which is 8 by the way) you’ll have to have the reticle constantly on the target.
Also one thing that makes it inferior to the BR and DMR is that it doesn’t make others flinch almost at all. Especially at range where you have to zoom this is a problem. You start shooting, the guy turns around shoots you back, your aim goes wild, you miss 2-3 shots and boom you’re dead. This is also a reason why I dislike the flinch mechanics. The Carbine would have an advantage on the other rifles if the when-hit-unzoom was still in the game.
The Carbine feel inconsistent. I know that I nail every shots, but I end up shooting out 12. Because of the inconsistency, I can’t tell if the Carbine is hit detection.

Just to get this straight the Carbine is 8sk, the Light Rifle is 4sk zoomed, 5 bursts/kill unzoomed. With the DMR you can get a double kill but you’ll have to realod to get the triple kill since the mag holds 14 rounds.
Nomatter who you are, you cannot disagree with this. The carbine is a useless weapon. There’s no argument or good logic that can go against this. On paper, and in the actual game . . . the carbine downright sucks
