Is the pulse carbine in the gameplay reveal replacing the original. Have been very curious about this for a while now.
no idea, will need to wait till the game comes out
I believe the three burst plasma rifle thing won’t replace the traditional carbine but it’ll be hard to tell until the full game is out.
Imma go ahead and say that the Carbine is not going to be replaced. It will have a similar doppelganger (Stalker Rifle) but I doubt even 343i the wrecker of Halo can just get rid of such an iconic weapon

The Carbine wasn’t in Reach, so there’s definitely a precedent. 343 has a renewed focus on sandbox so I’m pretty sure we don’t be seeing the carbine at all
The way I see it, the Pulse Carbine is actually just the Storm Rifle 2.0: another attempt at replacing our beloved Plasma Rifle.
Except this time, the gun tries to appeal more to players by likening itself to the Covenant Carbine, which is an existing weapon that is also quite popular.
Looking at the way elites used it, it looks more like a replacement for the Storm rifle. Also it appears that it lacks zoom, so it would serve more as an AR more than a mid-long range carbine

Well, that weapon has been basically useless in most games that arent Halo CE because of how it was nerfed, so having it in just to be overshadowed by another similar weapon isnt the best idea, just like the AR-SMG situation in Halo 3 and Halo 5
