Carbine Question for Those who have Played

Just a quick question for anyone who has played H4…

I’ve seen how quickly the Covenant Carbine fires in Halo 4 and I was wondering if you can hold down the trigger or if it simply fires as quickly as you pull it.

The reason I ask is because, for some reason, I’ve never been good at pulling a trigger or pressing a button really quickly.

So, does it work like the needle rifle in Reach? or no?

Thanks so much

I personally have never played with the carbine, but from what I’ve heard about it, it does not function like the NR

It fires like any other precision weapon like the DMR or the Needle rifle.

I think you misunderstood the question. What I mean is that in Reach you can simply hold down the trigger and the NR will auto fire. Can you do that in Halo 4 with the Carbine?

I don’t think so. It would make it OP, as it shoots fast and only takes 6-7 shots to kill. I think you have to tap the trigger to actually shoot it, as that makes it more balanced. Although, if you do have a good trigger-finger, you might make the Carbine a pretty useful weapon.

Well I think I misunderstood because I didn’t know the needle rifle could do that, but no the Carbine didn’t used to have that ability so I don’t know why it would now.

I haven’t played it but the Halo 4 Carbine doesn’t have automatic fire (watch the Covenant weapons trailer and various youtube videos and not once is it mentioned it is automatic).

It functions the same way the DMR does when you fire it. Every trigger pull gives you one shot. Holding the trigger down will not grant you automatic fire as did the NR.

The Carbine shooters way faster than the NR without the annoying bloom (sure the NR shot faster than the DMR in Reach but after 3 shots the bloom would screw you over). The Carbine doesn’t have explosion and kills in seven shots. Large clip size too. The scope’s range is the same as the BR.

You should give the TU NR a go. It is very accurate and beastly. The bloom is not a problem with it anymore.

I liked it better with bleedthrough, it was really strong under that. Still, what you say is truth. The NR in TU has no bloom and is much easier to handle than it’s Vanilla counterpart.
