I’ve always been a carbine lover, and the pew pew really tops it off in arena for this iteration, BUT I’ve had a ton of fun using the new lightrifle. That scope shot is wicked!
Carbine all the way. Loved it since halo 3 days. Wish it was able to be in the load out but I understand. Just want to get certified in it so I can have a bunch of them like I do mongoose right now…

I’ve always been a carbine player, but give the light rifle a chance and you will see how versatile it is at long and short range. (:
Lightrifle is a monster in Halo 5. I haven’t been so genuinely scared of a weapon like that in a while.
But I do like the design and sounds of the carbine, so I’ll go with that.
The Carbine is a good weapon for personal use. That fire rate can melt a person. But if you hold a place like top mid on Fathom or T3 on Empire with the LR you can completely lock the map down, then your teammates can clean up the kills.

I’ve always loved the carbine for that very reason. Stick every shot in their face and it’s so overwhelming for them.

I’m usually for the carbine but that new light rifle is a beast.
What about aesthetically? I love the way forerunner guns animate when aiming, but something about the carbine just grabs me in all of the right ways. plus, PEW PEW.
The light rifle hits like a truck, but if you miss 1 shot you are very disadvantaged. I like the carbine because of the fire rate and how fast it actually melts people.

I’ve found out about that disadvantage with the lightrifle and completely agree with both of your points. Do you tend to scope shot with it or no?
Right now, carbine because the aiming system is crap. If they fixed aiming, light rifle would be amazing. I love the light rifle, but even in campaign it’s so easy to miss a shot because of the aiming system and so the carbines higher rate of fire and higher ammo capacity is much nicer.

I understand your point. But the aiming system has not detracted from my experience (some tweaks will most likely be made in an update). I adapt to the situation when I miss a shot!

Most people don’t share that sentiment, though. The aiming system has detracted from the mass majority’s gaming experience. There are a lot of people who have already stopped playing because of it. It needs a huge fix. If anything, why not implement the aiming system from the beta that everyone loved but also keep it optional to use the current system? It would make nearly everyone happy because then you’d be able to play the way you want and neither would have a huge advantage if used properly.
I have always been a huge fan of the carbine. But the light rifle is a beast in this one. The bullets move kinda slow, and it fires pretty slow, but its possible to get a 3 shot kill. The carbine seems a little more underpowered than it has been before, even with a perfect kill I feel like it just takes way to long to kill.

Like I mentioned, An update will be on the way. Halo is known for its consistent updates and balancing, so I’m not worrying over what their plans are after hearing feedback. I stand by my opinion that I haven’t been annoyed by the current aiming system. If others can’t enjoy it, that’s on them, not me!

the carbine has always felt like it takes a lot of bullets to kill because it does. BUT there is something so satisfying to land every shot on the opponents face in quick succession. I can’t say I can out shoot a lightrifle’s 3 shot scope with a carbine because I haven’t had the situation play out for me that way yet.
I don’t think I could choose one over the other, in Arena the Carbine is literally bae due to the fire rate. But the Light Rifle in Warzone is absolutely wonderful. I love both equally. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
