just got my first master commendation, for the covenant carbine (favorite weapon) just wanted to know if this is something to be proud of, how many other people have gotten it, and who else favors the carbine over the DMR and BR?

No, but I like the carbine over the DMR but prefer the BR over anything.
I like the Carbine, but I just use the DMR because its more effective in most cases. Congrats on mastering it though.
You could be proud on every mastery except for boltshot
I love the Carbine, but I got the Arctic Skin for the Br so I’m sticking with it until I master it. But I do favor the Carbine over the DMR.

Seriously, was like the first weapon commendation I mastered.
i dont find it too hard to out strafe DMR users the key is to master the rate of fire its almost as fast as you can pull the trigger. pulling just barely enough to make the weapon shoot and letting off just enough to for lack of a better term “chamber” the next round of radioactive awesomeness.
out strafing in halo 4 youre probably thinking? yes even with all the assists and magnetism its possible but its hard as hell. not bashing on halo 4 btw i think its a good game.

I am not really going for Carbine mastery because I don’t see myself getting Covie loadout mastery anytime soon.

yeah that plasma pistol is gonna be pretty hard but im just so sick of using the DMR its too easy and everybody has one i just like to bring some variety to the game.
I love the Carbine and BR they are both satisfying to use, until you come up against 4/5/8 DNR users where you then appear to die in 1 or 2 shots and I’m talking about one of those Forge maps not Ragnarok or Exile.
I’m really looking forward to see how the Carbine and BR work after the TU.

im really excited for this TU as well i mean who isnt? i hope they at least lower the carbine to a 8sk i could care less if its kept as a mid range weapon.

Lets just hope that the TU actually does something to the weapon balance, the DNR should not be able to out shoot a Carbine or BR or any of the automatics when you come round a corner and you are both in that close to mid range distance. Across a map like say out in the open by the turret on Ragnarok, yes.

I found that Regicide is useful for this.
Already mastered the DMR to get that out of the way, working on the BR now and then Carbine is next. I can’t seem to do anything with it 
The biggest allure to using it is dat -Yoink!- skin from ROGUE specialization.
My favorite gun is the Energy Sword.

Don’t bother using it if everyone is:
A: Using the DMR.
B: Are a full party/team and communicating and all using the DMR, you’ll be dead in 2 shots, from your point of view.
C: On open maps.
It is good for mopping up/stealing kills when there is a group shooting each other.
