Any tips here for Carbine Mastery? Gametypes? Playlists? Strategies? Specific maps I should be playing?
To use the carbine well you need to have steady aim despite the fact you are smashing the R trigger faster and rattling your controller around more so than any other gun. After you practice this awhile and get it down you can take full advantage of the carbines swift 7 shot kill and excellent 1-2 shot cleanup ability.
I recommend free for all, as it is an excellent kill stealing and clean up gun. In team games make sure you stick with teammates and team shot well as you will be the one getting the kill most of the time.
Carbine SWAT? I get like 14 kills with it in Rumble Pit/Regicide. It’s one of those weapons where you’ll eventually master it, so no need to really rush the process.
I often get an abnormally large amount of Carbine kills on Settler, especially during skirmishes on the map’s infamous ridgeline.
No matter where you use it though, the Carbine is godlike.
They should add both the light rife and the Carbine to Swat.
But NO they leave both of though’s weapon’s out, by adding the Carbine and the light rife to SWAT it’ll add more of a variation to the game type other then using the DMR and BR all the damn time.
I just ground the crap out of this weapon. I mastered it long before Covie SWAT came around. Swsitch out whatever precision weapons you use for the Carbine instead. This will FORCE you to use that weapon. If you’re nto so good with it and are worried about K/D, then don’t use this method. Now that Covie SWAT is here though, I suggest that.

You realise they’ve had both covenant and forerunner SWAT for quite some time now right?

I think he means just throwing it into standard SWAT gametypes.
If you’ve played Global Championship recently, you’ll notice that there’s a gametype called “SWAT Rifles” or something along those lines. This gametype allows you to choose from the 4 primary precision weapons. I’ve always wanted that as well, but I think they don’t do it because the Carbine would probably dominate, considering the fast rate of fire.

Yeah I wasn’t sure if he meant that so I phrased it as a question to cover all bases
Yeah the carbine couldn’t be OSKs or it’d be the only weapon worth using, and if it wasn’t OSKs then no one would use it…
This might come as a bit of a surprise but I have found the Carbine to work wonders in Objective games on big maps. A week ago I played 3 games of Crimson DLC (1 KOTH + 2 Extraction on Shatter) and I was completely shredding the opposing players.
Try using a loadout similar to this:
Carbine
Boltshot
Frags
Jet Pack
Mobility
Dexterity
This loadout will help you move around the map and allow you to ambush opposing players. The Boltshot can be useful as you may find yourself in a lot of close range encounters. You may want to swap the BS for the Magnum if you find yourself running out of ammo frequently, or swap it for the PP if the opposing team is using a lot of vehicles.
I have also found the Carbine to work quite well in 4v4 Infinity Slayer. I combine it with the LR to make up for its lack of range.
LR
Carbine
Frags
Thruster Pack
Firepower
Stability
This loadout works well on: Haven, Opus, Simplex, and Abandon. It is important that the LR is your primary as you’ll want the 4sk for the opening battle on Simplex.
Best of Luck!

Yeah, I’ve been playing Big Team Objective. It seems like a lot of the time, I can just hang out by a hill and pick up some quick kills. I usually keep the Plasma Pistol handy as well for vehicles. I’m also working on Pulse Grenade mastery, so it all works really well together if I can EMP and then chuck a pulse at a Warthog.
I seem to get a lot of kills in Rumble Pit as it is a good clean-up weapon when fighting multiple opponents.
IMO, the best place to complete Carbine Mastery is in Lightning Flag in Action Sack, but i haven’t followed up with updates. LF u start with LR and its all one-hit kill so once you get a Carbine drop, fire away, b/c you’ll walk away with a lot of kills.
I mastered this pre tuning update. just put it in your loadouts. believe me by tier 7 you’ll be mastered with it.
it’s in the name
BIg team skirmish king of the hill, hill camping always works for me.
Adrift/Haven/forge map I cant remember
Lots of cover and blind corner turns, a steady hand and quick finger will destroy anyone with anything short of a power weapon
