Carbine Loadout

I have been using the T-51 carbine recently and I am very surprised at how well it preforms but, I cant seem to get a loadout that works well with the carbine. The loadout i use right now is:

Covenant Carbine
Magnum
Plasma Grenades
Active Camo
AA Efficiency
Dexterity

I was wondering if there are any new combinations I should try or,what to modify in this one.

Stability is a must have for this game IMO

I would build based off of gametype or map.

In 4v4 with the Carbine I would generally go with something like:

Carbine
Boltshot/Automatic
Frag/Pulse Nade
Thrust/Hardlight/Jetpack
Firepower/Resupply
Dexterity/Explosives

For BTB I’d vary it with these choices based on vehicle presence:

Carbine
Magnum/Plasma Pistol
Frag/Plasma Nade
Active Camouflage/Hardlight Shield/Thrust
Mobility/Wheelman
Stability/Ammo/Survivor

The Carbine kind of separates itself from the BR in that it is even more flexible a weapon. With even better range, and an RoF that allows you better consistency up close. It’s only real disadvantage to the BR is raw ease of use. Meaning it’s a hard weapon to pick items that balance well with, because it’s simply so decent at everything there’s no major weakness to cover. That’s why playing with extremes is important. Frags allow you to handle out of view enemies, sticks/PP’s allow you to handle vehicles, Magnum can help you in a reload, Boltshot or an Automatic for those CQC situations where you don’t feel comfortable with your headshot.

Completely agreed.

Plasma pistol?

The Carbine has a high ammo pool and fits nearly the same niche the Magnum does. No reason to have the Magnum, use the Boltshot or Plasma Pistol. One can actually fire a plasma pistol, then switch to the carbine and spam at the enemy’s head pretty easily.

The Carbine is the fastest firing of the semi-autos. Stability would be a wise choice as you will be able to inflict more flinch while taking less.

The Carbine doesn’t pair as well with grenades as the BR does. Trying to buff your grenades with explosives or grenadier probably won’t do you much good.

I use the Carbine in my support load out which is:

Covenant Carbine
Plasma Pistol
Pulse Grenade
Regeneration Field
AA Efficiency
Dexterity

I’ve been running it with Promethean Vision.

I was, then felt too cheap using it, so switched to camo -_-

O.O

[/li]- Ditch the AC. You’ll get some cheap kills with it, but it you have to camp in order to use it effectively, which isn’t a viable strategy in high-level play (which means it will also inhibit good skill-building).

  • Unless you’re playing BTB, ditch the Plasma Grenades for frags. You shouldn’t be close enough to your enemies to stick 'em, and frags are good for stripping shields quickly so you can get that headshot.
  • Unless you’re using AC or PV, AA Efficiency is meaningless. Your main incentive is to kill other players, so you should equip a TP that helps you do that, such as Firepower, Shielding, or Resupply. Armor Abilities are best used to complement kills, not to be the primary method through which you obtain them.
  • Dexterity or Stability are both good SUs for the Carbine.

Why would you have the Carbine, the gun with the most available chances for headshots in each clip, and then try to augment it with a Pistol?
Once again, you’ve got the best headshot weapon available, so you don’t need an OHKO grenade, just something that weakens shields. Though I wouldn’t normally, I’d go for the Pulse. Since the Carbine’s weak, you’ll end up with a lot of kills escaping into corners, where a Pulse would benefit you well.
I’m bored of typing, now…
