In the new MLG footage, I have seen the new Carbine and the DMR in action. From what I have seen, both seem far more powerful than the BR and Magnum. The Carbine and DMR seem to be able to kill way faster than the BR and Magnum. This has lead me to thinking: Are the DMR and Carbine going to be Over Powered? If this is the case, the BR and Mag might as well disappear for all the good they will do. There should be some tweaks to the Mag and BR to make them more equal. THe BR should be a 4SK, and the Magnum should be a 5SK with the rate of fire from Reach.

I don’t know, this is just my opinion, what do you think?

I think you mean Carbine, DMR > BR, Magnum.

All weapons are still in balancing stages, I wouldn’t make too many judgements now.

Granted that the build of multiplayer that you saw at E3 is not the most current build of Halo 4. There could be changes, there probably more than likely is. I think the goal of E3 was to just expose the public to what has been going on behind closed doors, you can’t really judge a book by it’s cover, you have to read it for yourself.

ive watched pretty much all the footage put up by MLG and id say your dead wrong. the BR dominated at medium and close range. the pistol wasn’t used a whole lot except to finish off a kill. there was only 1-2 people trying to use the DMR and carbine. and they really only seemed to be winning at long-ish ranges. wich is how it should be.

The DMR/Carbine are not overpowered. It is more accurate to say the BR is underpowered. Based on the killtimes breakdowns I have seen the BR would be just right with the kill times of the DMR/Carbine if it was a 4 shot. With a 7 shot Carbine/5 shot DMR/ 4 shot BR all being around 1.4s.

As for the magnum it is unfortunate but it is not really being designed to stand toe to toe with the other weapons. As a side note it seems like the AR could use some love as well. The storm rifle seemed fine and may only require slight tweaking.

I think the magnum should be 6sk with no bloom, but with the same rate of fire.

That would be over powered and easy to spam.
If it was going to be the same rate of fire and no bloom, 7-8sk
