Carbine and Plasma Caster Tips

I could use some helpful tips on each of these guns ASAP! I find myself constantly getting out gunned when I use the Carbine. Rarely do I win head to head battle with it, often the player is weak and I come in to finish the job. I loved this gun in previous games, so I don’t know what my problem is or what I am doing wrong. Obviously there is a skill gap here, but I still feel I should be doing better than what I am.

As for the Plasma Caster I tend to kill my own team more than the other team with this gun. Even when I try to be strategic I tend to either blast the shots all over the place, or shoot the charge shot too late. Any hints would be very helpful!!

I also notice that many players don’t bother picking this weapon up in the game. So I wonder if I’m not alone my struggles with this gun, or it’s just a bad gun that people avoid.

You pretty much observed this for yourself, but my tip for the plasma caster is to not pick it up. It just has no versatility - the gun you have to drop to pick it up is a better weapon.

For the carbine, it’s just practice. Don’t use the scope, pull the trigger fast, repeatedly. There really is no trick to it so just get in the habit of picking it up until you start to get results.

Plasma caster is beast if you know what you are doing with it. IT DOES HAVE VERSATILITY. You just dont leroy jenkins with it.
PCaster is best used in uncharged mode. Shoot at the ground in the direction of your foes. It will bounce to them and give you kills. Charged only if you think they are camping in a spot or if they are about to spartan charge you shoot at your feet. You dont shoot at people with it but at walls and ceilings. The bounce it what does the work.

Carbine just requires practice.

Use the caster to launch the rocket launcher towards you, proceed to drop the caster to catch the rocket launcher.

I use plasma caster at long range to Assualt a base, you could also stand outside an armoury and pepper the inside with charged caster shots.

I liked it, but was using it to charge up most of the time. Would shoot charged up bolts to the ceiling or walls and they would stick and then explode… Usually on people running by.
Then started bouncing off of walls, around corners and like one poster said works very well.

And last night used level 4 one on Warzone. Went up rock on Spire and it shoots 2 at a time. Shot down the whole edge of the spire up top and received multiple kills with it. Rarely charge it fully up now…

Imo, carbine is the BEST support rifle. It wrecks when you get used to it. To learn how to use it, stick to warzone on btb, you’ll see what I mean. Don’t engage into too many 1v1 with it, 1 miss= death (usually) Just get used to shooting it unzoomed and you will become a huge problem for anybody with it.

The plasma caster… aka the anti-camping gun. If you run out of nades this is the perfect gun to check your corners with. If you know a guy is hiding around a corner, just spam fire the ground, NOT the guy, and the shots will bounce toward the guy and the guy will die. Very effective if you now a guy is hiding with a shotgun/ sword/ or just being a sitback sally/ camping carl. OR you could charge it up and stick a guy so he goes explodes and treat it like a sticky nade.

Hope these tips help.

I don’t like Casters. They are pretty much useless for me. I do like Carbines but prefer DMRs.

Aim the caster at the ground unzoomed for people, zoom for vehicles and if you can charge the shot onto the vehicle both will stick but the charge shot will do more damage.
Carbine is close to a more spray and pray type precision weapon you can miss a lot of shots and still kill faster than most

Dont ads with the carbine if you can help it, just spam the trigger and you can out shoot alot of people. I love it.
As for the Caster, charged shots for vehicles(its effective enough) or bounce shots off walls around corners into high traffic areas.

Plasma caster is good for getting people out of hiding spots or around corners.

This is brilliant, such strategy!

nothing is more satisfying than perfect killing someone with a carbine…nothing

What about a long range perfect carbine kill when they have os, camo or speed boost?

Carbine’s main advantage over the three other mid to long range weapons (DMR, BR and Light Rifle) is its rate of fire. You’ve got to keep pulling the trigger as fast as you can if you want to hold your own against one of the other weapons. The rate of fire also makes it slightly better at shorter ranges than those guns, but still is going to lose to SMG or Suppressor or something most of the time.

Plasma Caster is tricky because it is completely unlike every other weapon. You can’t shoot at opponents, you’ve got to shoot at the ground and walls and try to bounce shots towards them. Its really good against clustered or camping enemies as you can hit them even without line of sight. The charged shot is less useful

COMBAT EVOLVED!

The plasma caster is good for firing into confined spaces from the outside. The most effective areas are places like long halls, security or Tower 1/2/3 when enemy players are grouped up and/or camping. The ricochet increases the chances of “Cluster Luck” or sticking opponents.

The carbine rifle is an acquired taste. It is best for long range engagement when you are running support and cleaning up after teammates. It is also very effective at peppering opponents, disorienting and slowing them down. It is great for people who can spam the fire button really fast and remain accurate with its high rate of fire.

Carbine is a beast once you master it. Very fast on release. No scope is the way to go, similar to the DMR. Plasma caster also works great while defending the flag. Camp out and pepper those brave fools that go for your flag.

What he said about the caster. But the carbine I have some tips. It’s great for noob combos as you can repeatedly pull the trigger if you miss their head. It’s better that you have a plasma pistol with you when you have the carbine. If someone is camping on a turret or something, scope in on their face and pull the trigger as fast as you can. They won’t be able to get off fast enough. When facing off one on one, don’t spam the trigger but get a good aim. You should still be shooting pretty fast just not as fast as it could be. Hope this helps.

I finished the plasma casters commendation, you just have to get use to wheres the enemy is going or charge for destroying vehicles, carbine just like dmr, just spam the trigger till theyre dead
