Lets stack up the 2 alien precision weapons against each other.
For a skrub like me I kill much better with the Carbine simply because of the faster rate of fire, so I can spam the trigger quicker.
My aim is more or less garbage, so I prefer the ability to rapidly spam the Carbine’s trigger.
Honestly I’m horrible with both. But if I had to pick one it would be the Carbine. Like everyone else said, I can make up for my lack of skill with it with spraying and praying, more or less.

I don’t use Light Rifles unless I pick it off from a Solider and no one else is at REQ 3 yet. Really only use it in FF for the most part.
Light Rifle
I’ll go with the Lightrifle. I’m a bit inconsistent with the Carbine.
I have to go with the Lightrifle because the “Carbin” doesn’t exist in the halo universe.
Joking, I know you meant the Covenant Carbine, but I still would choose the Light Rifle
I think the light rifle is probably the better weapon, but I end up using the carbine more.
Depends on my mood. Spamming the trigger or getting a accurate 3 shot kill.
I like the power of the light rifle.
Both are good but I would pick up the carbine more often

but why are we comparing med-range precision weapon to longer range equivalent? The DMR and light rifle could be more of a same range as is with Battle rifle and carbine. And i would pick DMR over the light rifle from longer range ones.
basically, the light rifle is the one that i dislike most of the precision weapons.
The Light Rifle. Its more powerful and is easier for me to land shots with than the Carbine.
I suck with the Carbine - too much leeway to miss.
I have used the Lightrifle more than the carbine in H5. I like it more thane the carbine for some reason in 5

I thought the light rifle had only a 2x scope like the carbine. Correct me if I am wrong.
