It seems to me that locking winter contingency progress to one level per day is shortsighted due it punishing people who have to travel from home to see family for the holidays. In my case I was visiting family for a little over a week thus being unable to play a game everyday so now I will only be able to get 4 reward tiers despite now having the time to play much more. To put it bluntly this feels extremely shortsighted and harsh especially for an event revolving around a season where most people travel and may not be by their home console for some time. I hope these event Items will make a free come back at some point because I was really looking foreword to some of the flair that I will now unfortunately miss out on.

Yeah, would have been nice if they enabled a “catch up” mechanic to complete multiple days once the 10 day limiter had been reached. But they will just play it off as yet another “oversight,” unfortunately.
So much for not having FOMO, or at least trying to limit it.
Life sucks unfortunately at times, but you’ll survive.
Limited time offers will always not be accessible for everyone. That’s just how it is sometimes. We just gotta hope there will be other opportunities to get them afterwards, that’s all.
Heck, I’m curious how to get the emblems that aren’t included in the set ( they’re listed under emblems if you go and customize your spartan ).

Genuinely one of the few reasons it’s good to have Game Pass Ultimate. You can log in on your phone. I just don’t want to be hassled to log in every day, because that’s the kind of nonsense you’d expect from a mobile game or gacha game, not Halo. That’s a chore, coming home from work, and playing one match before bed, just to turn it back off after putting zero effort in just to get it over with.
343 is giving players tons of reasons to not bother trying, to want to afk XP and rewards, and to just overall hate playing the game. They’re only artificially inflating the player activity numbers to make themselves look good, because otherwise, most people wouldn’t want to play daily, and the servers might suffer finding players within your region. Infinite just came out and they already have it on life support, abusing FOMO trying to bait people into still playing daily.
I still play just to play, and I’ll actually try to win, but man do I groan thinking about it every day. I’d rather get every event and weekly over with on my day off when I’m actually in the mood to play.

Your phone if you’re that worried about getting a daily reward from the event pass. It takes 7 minutes.

Or play with bots if you don’t want to annihilate your K/D. Playing over the cloud is pretty unresponsive, and the game is already horribly unresponsive normally on PC and Consoles. There’s like a half second aiming delay playing over phone data.

This is true but if all OP is worried about is the daily reward who cares about KD In a social playlist for a 7 minute game?
Hilarious. First, it’s why have to do any challenges at all and now that all you have to do is play 1 game a day for 10 days and be able to miss 4, people still complain.
Proves that most complaints are warrantless and those behind them will never be satisfied until it’s “exactly how they want it”.

Do you get mad at concerts or festivals for having limited days as well as not going along with your life schedule? Limited events are fine and they gave extra days. I am willing to bet the winter rewards will come back like Tenrai.

True. Idk, some people are absurdly obsessed with their Ranks and K/D on Halo Tracker. People forget how to just play Halo for fun. It’s way too scuffed and buggy to care about K/D and win/loss anyway. Just was advice for anyone that truly cares about it.
You’re not missing out…the rewards are total crap anyway so no fear. There will be much better stuff coming the future and you probably have better cosmetic items already. I’ll get my 10th and final item tomorrow…and I’d happily donate or gift them if it was an option (and no, you can’t have my GT!).

So what’s the play, never have any special events ever? There’s always gonna be people missing out for various reasons. The Tenrai event you could get everything in a single day, not much of an “event” when it’s over so quickly.
Preferably I’d have something that could be accomplished quickly but still not a single day and also, have a special event like map or gametypes. Halo best be going HUGE when we get this levelled up forge. I’m expecting to be slaying in igloos next winter, not just logging in for a daily Bot Bootcamp match.
Yeah it’s like they’re trying to sabotage themselves on purpose.
Next week we will prolly get another shade of green for the AI and Mr Chief emblem for vehicles for 20 $, while BTB is still FUBAR.
I think players should be able to farm an event’s rewards at their own pace, yes.
Tenrai didn’t feel like an event because it used Fiesta as its playlist, and did not offer the rewards it advertised (which they’re fixing, thankfully)
Fiesta shouldn’t have been used for Tenrai because it has no association. They could have made a unique gamemode and locked weapons to swords and hammers and given people thrusters to play with. (Just an example) Made some sort of unique experience, like most other Live Service games try to do during an event.
From my understanding it works like an advent calendar. You can unlock this item on the 24th, this on the 25th, and so on.
And much like an advent calendar, if you forget a day, you can make up for it, get two or three rewards the next time you log in by playing several games. You just can’t unlock past what the schedule is.
For example if I didn’t play for 3 days, I could unlock the three rewards I missed plus the 4th day on the next time I logged in, I can not however advance beyond the calendar and unlock the 5th day ahead of time.
