Can't you just copy Halo Reach system?

The progressional system + coating system is an abomination.

343 must copy Halo Reach progressional system :

  • Having a flat xp progression system that rewards you with more xp when you perform better in a match + additional challenges
  • Having a nice Rank design : simply bring back the Rank design from Halo reach, that makes you really want to progress because the design is terrible since 343 took the controller of the franchise.

343 must copy Halo reach personalization system :

  • Basically if you do their awful challenges and you finally manage to earn coating armor, or pieces of armors, you can’t mix them with another set of armor. This is unacceptable, you should be able to mix any piece or armor + color

PS : Overall i just don’t understand why you can’t keep features that was by default for decades in the past Halo games (in depth statistics system, etc).

A progression system could be possible in the future and cross core customization could be a thing, but I would just get any sort of previous customization from any of the old Halo games out of your head right now. Infinite is a F2P game, and that usually means the in-game store dictates at least 75% of the content in MP. So unfortunately, they will not be changing anything that affects the store.

Then better not to call it Halo. Just because its “F2P” is not an excuse for missing core content. In many ways multiplayer was always free to play as it was included with the Halo title campaign, along with forge etc…that is the Infinite game, In my mind, Infinite is not a F2P game, only the multiplayer part is. Not to mention paying full price just for the bare bones campaign without MP, Forge etc

…and no-one asked for a shop and very few actually wants one or cares about it

They like reinventing the wheel with the same tools that made it the first time, to put it simply.

The joke? The tools are broken.

All this would be way too easy for them and it’d be like giving Bungie credit rather than putting a stamp on it themselves.

The best thing we could have gotten was a mix of Reach and 3’s unlock system.

Most of the armor would be unlocked through credits but there was still a good chunk of armor locked behind achievements.

If only we could have gotten that, but the temptation of microtransactions was too good for 343 and Microsoft to pass up so we got an absolutely butchered unlock system instead.

Trust me, I want a true rank system too. 343 could design it to be slightly grindy, but there could be milestones with rewards you can unlock to keep the leveling up fresh. It would give Infinite more longevity and keep players playing.

I think it will help players who have completed the Battle Passes. Players who keep playing will be able to continue working towards their overall player progression, even though the Events or BP is finished for the time being. They could also toss XP bonuses on featured playlists and certain Medals and on Victories to give players an extra nudge to play better as well. This might also help a bit with Challenges being the only option to progress.

I thought something like this was going to already be in Infinite like all of the other Halo games, but it wasn’t because 343 wanted to monetize everything as much as possible because it is F2P
