I’ve had it with this fight.
Why do we have to fight about who has the better halo, what fans are killing Halo, which games are better. The community has become filled with toxicity since the new generations showed up but is it their fault? NO. I take no side in this whole fight, I was around since H3, and I loved that game, then when Halo 5 Beta showed up, I was ready for more after Halo 4’s MP failure. I consider both generations of Halo as acceptable, Gen 1 for it’s story and gameplay, and Gen 2 for bringing memories back and Halo 5’s gameplay (Sorry Gen 2, even with Halo 4 you haven’t given me enough good story to qualify for that section)
I ask you, why we fight? Nobody is superior in terms of which generation has the best gameplay, story and content. Each one has their ups and downs… some further down than others (Yes i am talking about you Halo 5. You have good gameplay but your story sucked. Halo 2, that story was good but the ending was crap and had nice gameplay).
Nobody needs to keep this up. Why fight about this? It’s these fights that make people care less about this, and it’s probably why the Halo community is so toxic now. and it’s not one group’s fault. Both Old and New did this to us and look at us now, A community on the verge of War over a game meant for fun.
New Generation: I get it, you probably played Halo 4/5 first, and probably thought that this was the norm for Halo. Not exactly. There is no true norm for this game. I don’t know what you have in mind, but the game isn’t just a typical shooter, this one has a story that works unlike games such as Crysis 3 and a majority of the current COD games. It’s always the same thing in those games: “Oh there’s something that can destroy the earth? better go stop it with guns and unnecessary explosives when i can just nuke the thing instead.” That’s all you need to play those games. Halo isn’t that type of game. Halo is known for characters you can actually feel for, they arent forgettable. Halo has gameplay that doesnt feel like many shooters. Even today, Halo’s gameplay doesnt feel too close to many games I’ve played (And i played Titanfall, COD AW, and BO3, all games that have the latest features). Honestly if you want to get that different feel that im talking about try the Recon controller layout for a time. I know it’s gonna pain some of you to do this learning all the new controls, but you can get an inside look at how some of the past players played the game when Halo wasn’t about “ADS”** and Microtransactions. But if you want to complain about something in Halo, it should be a bug that’s repetitive, nothing to do with aiming or something stupid like that. If it’s aim then it may just be you, and you’ll need to adjust how you play.
Old Generation: Some of you aren’t innocent either. Those who are guilty, I ask you stop attacking the new people, and the kids. It’s not like they experienced everything that you did. Believe me, it’s like getting a modern child to see the Teen Titans before Cartoon Network turned them into a joke (10 points to anyone who remembered the good days before Cartoon Network killed their TV reputation). It’s not easy to get that child to forget the funny show and watch the awesome badass show. I actually tried that with my brother and he forgot about the good ones weeks after I showed him. You can’t force a new fan to experience or believe that something they know nothing about is better. For all they know, this was the best thing that could’ve happened for Halo, they know nothing about the past of Halo, and if they wanna go experience it, then that’s their choice. Let them try it on their own time. If you wanna see their prospective (i haven’t done this because I can understand why they play this way) Take a day and play standard controls if you havent already. If you want to complain about anything, it shouldn’t be about bringing back the old halo, or “annoying children” or removing 343i because they arent about to leave. Microsoft is gonna keep them there as long as they get money. what can help is reunifying the community to what it should be
As a final message i want all of you to think about, I want you to think: What am I doing for this community now, and is this only good for me or the whole community? There’s not an easy answer to that. I thought fighting for Old Halo was originally the right path, but I was wrong because Old is just as toxic as New. Nobody is any better, everyone is on equal ground.
I say it’s time we all just come together as one community and work towards fixing out mistake, letting this toxicity spread.

Why don’t we all listen to reason?
Why don’t we all just get along?
It’s time to change this community once and for all. Time to work as one.
