Unlike the problems other people appear to be having, the Halo Channel is telling me that I need to buy Nightfall to play the video. I recently picked up the MCC and got around to installing it tonight. Thought I’d check out at least the first episode and bam… can’t.
I’ve checked the app in the Games & Apps menu and both the channel app and Nightfall are present. On the store page is says that Nightfall is installed. Anyone run into this problem before? I waited till after the game had installed to use the QR code that came in the box. Would it be worth trying the 25 digit code instead?
Using digit code didn’t work as I had already redeemed the content through the QR code. Still thought it would be worth a try though. Have powered down the console twice, once through voice commands (xbox turn off) and through holding down the power button till it shuts down. Neither had any effect. Gonna try re-downloading the app THEN Nightfall?
Uninstalled Nightfall from the app and then the app itself. Powered down Xbox and then restarted it. Re-installed the app through the Game’s & Apps menu, then installed Nightfall through the store (seeing it was asking me to buy it. No luck once again. Tried starting through the MCC itself, sends me to the app and still asks for me to buy Nightfall. I also tried using the PC Halo Channel app, same problem. Am I really going to have to pay out the $14.99 for something I technically already own??
Now HERE is something odd. I managed to watch the first few seconds of it through the Halo Channel for PC so long as I launched it from this very website… then it stops. A screen pops up with the message “That’s not right…” Getting a little tired of this.

Having the exact same problem. Wanted to watch Nightfall to unlock the corresponding armour in the beta before it ended. So frustrating. Nothing seems to work. If I miss out on the only opportunity to unlock the armour for Halo 5, I’m gunna be livid. That on top of being denied access to something I’ve been looking forward to watching. Utterly sick of Halo products not working. Not acceptable 343. Come on.

Might have to resort to Youtube to watch these. Still no luck with multiple combinations of uninstalls online or offline.
Paying doesnt fix the problem I bought it and im still having trouble
Nightfall doesn’t work for me either. I redeemed the code and Nightfall installed (around 9 megs) but if I try to view it in the Halo Channel, I only have the option to “Buy Nightfall”. Hopefully this gets resolved soon, as I’d like to watch this series.

This is quite a silly problem. I’m in the same boat as everyone else, Every time I load up the halo channel on my xbox and attempt to start nightfall I am prompted with this message saying that “…the content selected can’t be played at this time. please retry or select something else from the guide.” Like everyone else: been there done that no positive result. And as my own final note: having to purchase a Windows laptop to watch this on a different medium ‘bleep off’. I wouldn’t spend another three grand on a laptop for that one purpose. I’m a mac user and will stay one
Ended up watching all 5 episodes in one sitting on Youtube. Honestly not worth the time. It’s a cool story, but doesn’t stand up to my expectations.
FYI, the Nightfall series works for me now. To those that were having issues, check the Halo Channel on your XB1 to see if it’s been resolved for you.
well its 2016 by now and its still not working for some it seems, quite anoying and terrible support for it.
