As the title says i can’t wait until all these start will be hilarious see all the bungie fanboys comparing destiny to halo 4 and saying how awesome it will be and this is why bungie should still be in charge of halo etc even if it turns out to suck balls lol.
I myself wonder in which direction Bungie took it for MM. I bet its a class based shooter seeing that they “tested” it with Reach.
This isn’t a very productive thread you know. And please, lets just leave the Bungie fanboys at B.net. They hate us over there already.
Mods are gonna shut that down pretty quickly IMHO
I will wait for the reviews before committing to Bungie’s newest.
I just can’t wait to hear stuff about it.
Halo 4 made me realise one thing:
I fell in love with Bungie, not Halo.
Really hoping Destiny has a 360 release rather a NXBOX one!
I personally won’t wait for the reviews i will just buy it and try it couldn’t care less for reviews. I actually do think it’ll be a good game just saying will be hilarious when it comes to it because you just know it will happen and comparisons will be made most probably bashing halo 4 for no real reason lol.
well grats! maybe u just created the first thread you are talking about

Destiny has already been announced to be multi-platform and as far as I’m aware, that also includes a PC version which would absolutely kick butt. I’m hoping Destiny becomes a good alternative to Halo because if it is a well balanced game, it’s got me hook line and sinker over 343i’s take on Halo.

What would be even cooler is if the game could link to the multiple platforms it plays on. Ex: Xbox players can play with/against pc and playstation players!

While that would be cool i don’t think that is ever going to happen unfortunately
there are many games that would be awesome if they had this feature.
For the love of God can we please try and stay away from flamewars between two series that started at the same company?
Halo is awesome, even with its flaws…even with the flaws Bungie let slip through during their time with Halo.
And I’m sure Destiny will be great as well and will owe a lot of how it plays to Halos past. .
There are no hard feelings between 343i and Bungie. And there is no need for any of us, or over at B.net (which I’ve been an active member of since 2005 until they messed up their forums) to start hating on each other.
There’ve already been “I’m leaving Halo and getting Destiny” posts. It’s funny too, because most of them reason that they’re doing it because they think Bungie will make it competitive like the previous Halos, when they’ve already stated it’ll be a very “casual” game.

no
Actually what’s going to be funny is going to be watching all the disillusioned Halo players hoping Destiny will be Halo 2 and 3 and then complaining on B.net that Bungie’s Destiny is chalk full of giant Walking mechs and AA abilities in a MMO.
Then you’ll see Halo 4 get some love like as if Bungie released Halo 5 and it wasn’t Halo enough, LOL.
Ahhh this community so darn priceless. Never change you crazy shinning diamonds.

Nobody thinks that Destiny will be a re-skinned Halo 1, 2 or 3. Clearly it wont be. I’m inferring that it will turn out to be a class based game like Star Wars Battlefront. The sad part is that there are no longer any games that play in the same way the original Halo trilogy did. There’s nothing that fills that niche anymore, FPS games are now all just classes, classes and more classes. That’s not to say that class based games can’t be good or anything, just that there’s pretty much no alternative style modern FPS sub-genre to play these days.

That’s old news though, a lot can change in a matter of time. For example it’s surely not a coincidence that they are announcing it the same week Sony is showing off their new console?
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the 360 version was scrapped to concentrate work on the PS4 and Nxbox ones.
I really hope we get a release date as well.
Distributers discovered by including digital content and customization based on a XP system that requires time will actually net them profit if they release packs containing these items at a later date. One you have players just starting due to picking the game up at a lower price point or two players who simply don’t have the time to keep up. The threat of veteran players and simply the need to want to try out the cool stuff can make a player put down twenty bucks to save some time and effort.
Unless Arena games can show a working model of monetary gain long after the fact of launch and simple map packs you’ll be seeing classes and digital content for a long time coming.
People can compare Halo 4 to whatever they want. Won’t stop me from enjoying the game.
Besides, Bungie’s “Project Destiny” will be a multiplatform game. And rumor has it that it’ll be a MMO with a younger demographic target than Halo, and taking a lot of cues from Star Wars.
In the end, “Project Destiny” isn’t going to turn out like most people want it to be, just because it’s Bungie creating it.

The thing is though, while I agree totally with what your saying, the developer has to either a) be pretty sinister in order to actually force these changes through or b) has to make the game good in the first place. For example, just look at the crimson DLC map pack. That was a complete flop. Hardly anyone who didn’t buy the legendary edition actually bought it. The reason being is because a) the game sucks and b) players feel cheated that the game didn’t ship with more maps and having a DLC released so early after release is an obvious and unforgivable money grab. Not many people are going to pay $20 bucks to fast-track their way through a video game that they don’t enjoy.
Gamers are actually starting to smarten up a little bit as a collective and speak with their wallets which is what they’ve finally realized is the only voice they have and that a developer will notice.
