Can't wait for Halo Mythos!

It should tie together so many loose threads, and make everything so clear. Great move by 343i! And I can’t wait to see the timeline of battles during the Covie-human war, there’s still so much content there. And the Reach storyline, combining the game storyline & novel storyline together. And to have the Post-H4/Pre-H5 story polished.
What are you most excited for?

Honestly don’t know what to expect

yeah I am getting it as well I hope this clears up the reach timeline as well if it clears up any plot holes from the mess from halo 5’s plot

I’m just happy to be getting a newer version of the Halo Encyclopaedia that includes the newer games after Halo 3.

I just want something to finally end the cliffhanger of Primordium damn it.

Simmer those expectations down a bit. We still know basically nothing at all about what type of book it is going to be.

they said it is story guide to everything from the forerunner days all the way up to the end of halo 5

Maybe it’ll explain how Cortana managed to come back to life and how the Domain managed to un-die as well. And why the Domain is (apparently) no longer a Precursor artifact.

Please give us more on the formation of the New Covenant!

I need more Gek and Jul please Halo Mythos.

What do you mean? The Domain is a precursor artifact, that much is explained in the Forerunner trilogy of books.

Or, did you mean Forerunner when you said Precursor?

By the flood to the librarian at the end of the war. Not a lot of people knew.
Remember it was a shocking revelation for the librarian?

Of course, I remember. The Gravemind told her that the Domain was Precursor, you just said that many people knew it wasn’t Precursor. But I assume you meant that few people knew that it wasn’t Forerunner. In any case, 343i and their writers knew that it wasn’t Forerunner, yet they chose to pass it off as a Forerunner artifact in Halo 5. If their writers were competent, they would have dropped some hints in Halo 5 that the now-space-magic Domain was not Forerunner, in order to not conflict with their previously established lore. Same goes for it no longer being destroyed. But of course, apparently that was too much to ask… Not all that surprising coming from a certain writer who said that Halo has an effective range of 25 light years.

I meant not many knew that it was precursor.
No, portraying it as it being precursor, would be like, uhhh how does she even know that?

And the other one is just a mistake. Just like I said ‘wasn’t precursor’ on accident. In my mind, I know what I said, but what I wrote makes didn’t match what I was thinking. But if I read it, it would have been interpreted as what I meant in my brain

Yeah it’s gonna be dank

I’m not saying that they should straight up say that it’s Precursor, but have somebody hint to it. When you’re saying “her”, I’m going to assume that you’re referring to Cortana? She may not be able to tell, but I’m sure at least the Warden knew about it. After all, he was the guardian of the Domain, I am sure he had access to it. He could even say something as simple as “Cortana’s power comes from beyond the Forerunners. It was something…more that decreed that she take the Mantle. The Domain was protected from its destruction so that it could serve its purpose once more”. There, not only does that say that the Domain is not Forerunner, it also helps explain a bit about Cortana’s motives and the Domain’s survival of the Halo rings.

And if he didn’t know about the Domain? Then he should have. It’s 343i’s job to create a coherent story that is not only enjoyable, but also fits with the pre-established lore. Instead, they gave us a story that was honestly a crap show that made no sense whatsoever. I’m not saying that they should have straight up told us “Hey, the Domain is Precursor!”, but they should have at least acknowledged that it’s not Forerunner, because they’re the ones who created the Domain after all. It doesn’t matter whether or not most fans knew about it before or not, they should know now instead of being told that it is Forerunner.

It wouldn’t make sense in universe for them to know about it. Only the librarian, maybe catalog, and ONI and the flood.

If it’s like a expanded Halo Encyclopedia then I’m hyped.

> It wouldn’t make sense in universe for them to know about it. Only the librarian, maybe catalog, and ONI and the flood.

Sure they could have, if 343i came up with a good reason for the Warden to know. See G as how the Domain is Precursor, why would the Precursors/Flood allow the Forerunners keep the Warden there to guard it? It seems illogical for them to give their their enemy that power. It could make sense that the Warden was affected by the logic plague as well, so he would also be under the influence or control of the Precursors. For that reason, he could know of its true origins, since he would serve them.

There, a simple explanation that used a bit of creativity. I’m not talking about the actual bland story that makes no sense, I’m discussing theoretical possibilities of what could have happened instead of the Domain magically surviving. If anything, it makes no sense that the Domain survived for no reason and that the Warden just happens to decide that Cortana is worth following.

I just hope we’ll get some news on it soon. Haven’t really heard anything on it yet. Though I saw Grim basically confirming that it was still a thing a few months ago.
