Due to Halo MCC and Halo Infinite being on PC, Halo eSports is basically going to get redone. All of the Xbox One eSports players are going to be dwarfed by their PC counterparts and this could potentially ruin their career. I kinda feel bad for them. It’s just going to be a known fact that the competitive scene of Halo is going to move to PC due to it having a larger player base and a larger skill gap. Most of the current Halo champions are just not going to be able to adjust their gameplay onto PC.

As much as I think switching to PC would ultimately up the level of competition, I don’t see 343 or MS giving up using HCS to advertise the Xbox, especially with the esports history Halo has. I’m sure there will be some high profile Halo tournaments on PC, but I have my doubts they will ever be the main event or otherwise overtake the Halo console Esports scene.
I doubt changing the tools that the pros use will make much difference longer term yes initially but the current pro console players will will adapt. The outcome will just be a deeper pool of talented players.
People act as if H:I is about to dethrone CS…where is this confidence coming from?
Over the last 10 years, Halo struggled even among it’s very basic core-audience and the competition is a lot stronger on PC, why should PC players flock towards this game?
At first 343 need to prove H:I will be interesting to the comp-community, then they need to prove that they are able to adapt to their demands, then the PC crowd need to show that they are more passionate about the game than the console community and then 343 must decide to move HCE over to PC. That’s a lot of things that need to be proven first…
I don’t think the comp scene is leaving Xbox. There could be a separate PC scene but it wouldn’t move entirely. Even if it did, the pros would adapt if they really wanted to switch over. It’d take a while to adjust but in the end they’d be better than they were on console.
I already want to see the new pro league of halo PC !! a totally different level!

How do you know that? I know Snip3down plays PC games.
Have you seen the Gears of War tournaments? All Xbox players and all playing with controllers. Take a quick look at the highlights and that’s all you need to see to know that PC is not going to be replacing Xbox tournaments. Those players have just as much, if not even more, accuracy, flow, gracefulness, and skill as any PC player would.
Also, it really depends on what kind of Halo game it will be. PC is not always the superior input for every game out there.
do you have any evidence that says that PC players would completely dominate Xbox players in Halo? Cross play has yet to ever happen in Halo, so there’s no reason to assume that PC will “dominate the scene” as you say it will.
At the end of the day, only time will tell if they we see a pc VS Xbox tournament
Just because halo is moving to pc doesnt mean anything. Champions will do what they need to in order to Adapt. The current Champs are going nowhere anytime after the release on pc. If anything they’ll play with a controller on PC and stomp the pc players using keyboard lol.
They’ll just do what any person in that profession would do; adapt. The controls are definitely an adjustment, but the game is still the same game, and people make the same good/bad plays on PC games that they would on Xbox.
Also as a side note, you seem sympathetic in your post showing genuine concern for their careers, yet your title says you can’t wait for the champions to be replaced. Just seems like an odd contrast.
