Why can I not use the cloud 9 coating with other pieces of armor? I payed for it I should use it with other armor

Yeah, there’s 343’s ham-fisted nature shining through again. Some coatings are specifically for some armor cores. Cuz y’know why would they ever make an entirely logically secure decision? Hasn’t happened during Halo 4 or 5 and it’s certainly not happening here. Just 343 doing what they do best and clumsily handling our favorite IP.

This seriously needs to be reconsidered by 343. It’s bad enough that we need to can’t combine armor pieces with other sets (sort of understandable). Coloring armor shouldn’t be as difficult to do as adjusting armor pieces for different bodies.

This is just another piece of the Armor Coating issue I see currently. Coatings are NOT universal. We should not have to unlock or buy the same Coating every time we get a new Core! I would love to use this Red Coating MK.7 seems to have on my Reach Core, but it doesn’t seem to have it. That could be due to the missing armor, or because it just doesn’t exist on the Core.
The problem I’m having is I can not use different shoulders or chest pieces with the cloud 9 coating since it’s apart of a “armor kit”

Ah. Ya, that is also a big problem. It is a fear I have with those Reach kits. I really don’t understand the logic behind kits when you can easily recreate the kits with the armor and coatings. All coatings should be universal like a Destiny shader.

Armor kits should be sold as a BUNDLED DEAL FOR EVERYTHING IN THAT KIT, and NOT as a One-off “clone of an armor set that you can’t change the appearance of at all because that’s the way it is” I bought the Sentinels armor kit because I thought I would be able to use the coating with all of my other armor sets, just like the Launch Day Giveaway armor coating, but I can’t, and I wasted the money just to get the medic color’s I’ve been using in every other Halo game for years only to be unable to customize my armor set at all.

The more people talk about it the more they have to consider it. They have to realize and gather data that shows this will cost more money than it will make. Battlefront 2 turned tail and honestly certain elements of this system needs to too. MCC still has better customization options as it stands right now.

I also noticed this after purchase and was really disappointed. I mainly wanted the color scheme to put on other armor. There is zero point of me doing the battle pass when I can’t use those armors with the colors I want.

Hopefully these restrictions are temporary and will be lifted as time goes on. Sooner would be better than later.
I think they want you to buy all the most expensive stuff and keep buying new season passes and armour. Seems counterintuitive to lock you into one armour set day one.
bought the same C9 kit, had exactly the same reaction when i couldn’t wear my collar/breacher chest with it.
wont be buying any more kits from the store if it stays this way

They really should put the words “Warning: These items are kits, which are sets of armor that cannot be modified.” at the bottom of the HCS Offers page in big white text.
