Anyone else having trouble distinguishing the armors? Lots of them pretty much look the same, and have the same design, just different sizes. In Reach, I was able to named what kind of chest, shoulders, and helmets players had, but in Halo 4, I can only name the helmets and sometimes the chest.
When you’re in the middle of a game, I’m never able to distinguish armor from eachother. The only time I could was the hayabusa in Halo 3.
Yeah they aren’t that big of a difference… just different edges and minor designs. The armor is for your own personal preference anyways, nobody in the game can really tell the difference while in combat except for your helmet. Unless of course they are t-bagging you.
Well, in the lobby, you can see close ups of armor, but I still can’t tell them apart.
In Halo Reach you could ALWAYS notice a particular player from his armor. Now it’s already something if you can tell what helmet do they wear (the only big difference is from those with big visor)
I can quite easily distinguish between the different helmets and chest pieces but when it comes to shoulders, I can only recognize a few.
Armor is only truly for the lobby. 343 was trying to make…medals if you will. SolarSabre we had to get what 200 assassinations to get venator. It is to show skill. I am working on the mark helmet by completing the legendary campaign. They are pre game lobby medals. Nothing more.
I could do that easily in Halo 3, and with weapons too. Now I can’t distinguish armor or weapons. Not being able to distinguish weapons destroys the gameplay for me because I’ll never be able to see if the one I ran after had a shotgun or just a DMR.
I can do it while scoping through with a DMR.
I just need to know the names of the armor; So far, most of them I don’t know because I only pay attention to my current Mark VI, Wetworks and recruit.
This is why the Fotus helmet is so awesome, it’s halo 3’s hayabusa face
The helmet stands out the most in game. In lobby, the front of the torso is the least thing to stick out or arms, especially in game. Oh, and legs
The main problem is that most armors have so many details that you can only tell what they are up close.
In previous Halos, there were fewer details. But the details that where there were so grossly different from the others that they were easily recognizable.
Security looked like a giant bug eyes visor.
EVA was more visor than helmet.
Mark VI was John’s helmet.
Hayabusa was ornate as hell.
Scout looked like a duck.
etc. etc.
The only parts that are really instantly recognizable are visor colors. And that is because anything except frost, midnight, or default, makes you an instant target because they are so easy to see across the map.
