seriously, apparently the new tactic is to whip this baby out whenever possible, charge a shot, and one shot the enemy in the head. Its LITERALLY the old noob combo from Halo 2, using a plasma pistol to deshield then one br shot.
All the more reason not to charge at someone from around a corner. The only real problem I have with it is the range on its charged shot. It seems to be more effective at range than a shotgun and that’s not right.
That tactic really only works if your opponent decides to rush in for a melee finish in my experience.

I actually beat scattershots with this thing… I feel like a jerk using it, it’s a bit op. lol, if I don’t kill them in one blast it’s going to get them one shot, idk what they were thinking

I kill people with it all the time, 10 kills a game usually with it. All you gotta do just jump towards the person either rushing you, hesitating to rush you, and even running away the thing is so damn good
I agree. It’s a bit ridiculous that the Boltshot is better than the Scattershot. The Scattershot is practically worthless. NERF THE BOLTSHOT AND BUFF THE SCATTERSHOT!!

I’m starting to pick up on this tactic. At first, I unlocked the Plasma Pistol, thinkin of the ol’ “pop, bam” strategy. Then, a friend showed mehs the way of the bolt shot. I’m getting the hang of it.
Sure, it’s a tactic right now, but anyone who played Halo 2 back in the day will be having flashbacks of the PP-BR noob combo right now with the boltshot. You can try and tell me it’s tactical or I’m playing wrong all you want. It’s cheap. A crutch for bad players to get the jump on a good player.

Or using that old BxR Combo from Halo 2.
Melee Reload then instant shoot the Head.
Hence the button combination “BxR”
I like the Boltshot. Even if it IS ridiculously strong for a secondary slot it is a lot of fun to use.
I like to yell “SHORYUKEN!” at people when I use it.
You know, for dramatic effect.

Lol i know what the BxR combo was. No need to break it down for me. We got our own button glitch now, the super nade! But really, the boltshot and using a dmr to clean up is just like the PP and Br combo.
I for one haven’t been killed a single time by a boltshot. I haven’t even seen it in multiplayer.
And I’m going to go ahead and tell you right now that hitting someone with a charged Plasma Pistol and then going for the headshot is in fact good gameplay, and it is not a “noob” strategy. I myself rarely, if ever, use it, but if you have time to HIT someone with a charged PP, then manage to switch to your other gun and pop them before they can get just 4 bullets in you, then you deserve the kill.
Remember when 343 said you couldn’t spawn with a shotgun?

While I don’t agree with you since I despise this exploit (yes its in the game but its overpowered), I must give you credit for somehow incorporating a street fighter influence lol

Clearly you didn’t read. I wasn’t calling the plasma pistol and headshot a noob combo in HALO 4…if you ever played HALO 2, you’d know what I’m talking about then

But the super-Nade is a hard button combonation to pull off… Well for me atleast.

Really? I find it easy. Much easier than the double shot glitch from Halo 2. If you try it a few times you’ll nail the timing every time. Hope it gets patched.
