Can't Switch Accounts on Sign-In

I just downloaded MCC for PC and tried signing into my old Xbox Live Account, but the email associated with the account hasn’t been used on any device in years. Because of that, I don’t have any device that can receive an email to verify any new devices. All attempts of recovering the account up until this point have failed.

I created this new Microsoft account to try signing in, but the start screen provides no option to switch to signing in a different account if you are asked to verify the first one. This means I am stuck on a verification screen for an account I can’t access without the ability to try a different one. Thus, I am essentially locked out of the game, since a sign-in is required.

Restarting or uninstalling the game doesn’t make it forget the account it was trying to sign into.

If canceling the verification screen was able to let me start from the beginning and sign into a different account, or if I could get the game to forget the account it was trying to sign in with upon booting it up, my issue could be resolved.

same thing for me anyone got a solution yet

I’ve had the same issue and tried this:

  1. Go to Start
  2. Search: %Appdata%
  3. Click on the file folder appdata (which will put you at Users[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming)
  4. Navigate to Users[Your Name]\AppData\LocalLow)
  5. Delete MCC (The folder where Halo Master Chief Collection is holding its cookie files)
  6. Boot up MCC

I was able to create a new account and can now access the home screen for the game. I do not promote tampering with MCC’s files but this is what worked for me as I was also locked out of my game without the ability to back out of verifying an archaic hotmail account.
