I seem to not be able to start sprinting if I’m being shot at… Anybody else having this issue?
Its getting me killed so often… Ugh
its a Built in feature and really a really stupid one at that. we already cant regen our shields while sprinting so it would be balanced if we can run while being shot at.
yeah dude its not an issue it was designed to prevent you from running away if you take too much damages. fight it out m8.

You can run while being shot at.
The mechanic you’re referring to just disallows you to go into a sprint if you’re already being shot. Once the Thruster effect kicks in (that blue effect that fills your screen while in full sprint), you can’t be kicked out of it. It’s just a mechanic to combat people turning tail and running away likes a bunch of cowards.
in the beta was not there. You could not regen shield but you could run away, dunno why facilitate people to shot you when the spawns are so messed up you spawn right in the line of sight anyway
It’s called de-sprint, and it’s in the game to make running away from gunfights nearly impossible.
Why we need to delay shield recharge in addition to that, I don’t know… Prior to actually playing the game I thought shield delay would be better than just improving de-sprint, which it was not, simply because they actually gave de-sprint some critical thinking and only made it activate if you haven’t been running for a whole second, which is already infinitely better than it was in Halo 4.
I’m glad it’s there, I hate it when people run away. Halo 5 has much better action than the old Halos, and this is one of the things that contributes to that.
So if you are sprinting, and start taking damage, will that slow you down. I never noticed.
there is a power up or something for that but it is legendary
This was made to avoid the coward’s way out strategy from HALO 4 where if you got shot you would run around until you shields recharge making you a hard target to hit. The did this to make sure that once you get shot, you HAVE to finish the battle just like in HALO CE, 2, and 3.

Once you have entered full sprint (when your reticle changes and you can spartan charge) you can’t be taken out of it. De-sprint is a feature designed to keep players from initiating sprint while getting shot. It’s a fantastic feature and one of the many reasons Halo 5 is much better than Halo 4.

Thanks, I had not noticed.
its only when being shot in the back because those spartan chargers keep on running

True, in some cases this works…however, unless you are using a very effective power weapon, you movement speed should not be affected. This has not happened in CE-Reach, and even 4 (unless killed…then ragdoll activates). A single shot from a plasma pistol should not drag me out of sprint. This LOGICALLY does not make sense, and the whole reason that some of the fans wanted sprint is because “all the SPARTANs could do it”…so, what are we here, Gimps who cannot even beat out an ODST in physical ability?
It really makes these SPARTANs look pitiful…among other things.
Can I file a halo waypoint copyright infringement because this is literally what I posted a day ago

If I did, I didn’t intend to. I was not even online yesterday, so I did not see your post…however, if you posted this, I agree with your post.
shrugging
I was stating my opinion, which is very close to yours.
It’s a problem with sprint that can only be fixed by removing sprint. 343i had to implement a handful of punishments to help “balance” sprint. None of them have a positive impact on gameplay, just like sprint doesn’t have a positive impact on gameplay.

Except in those games you could run away. The only difference is that running away didn’t require you to sprint because the maps were spread out as much. Also, if someone chased you they were able to move at full speed and shoot at the same time. This made it so that running away was a lot less viable, but still a legitimate option. Sprint ruined this aspect of the game. Separating moving at full speed and combat makes it so that chasing is not viable, and requires extremely frustrating and arbitrary mechanics to balance. The only solution that makes any sense is to remove sprint and increase the FoV to give the illusion of faster movement. Maps could go back to having actual good design, and moving and combat would happen at the same time. This would add back a left behind level of depth to the game and overall make it more enjoyable.
To those saying its good as it is. its really not. heres the truth. the ones who say its fine as is are the real noobs. heres why. Say you fight Me and im loosing so i start run away if im able to run but not regen my shield its fair you still have the advantage. but if you cant Kill me fast enough before i get into cover then you didn’t deserve the kill in the first place. why should it just be handed to you? also this hurt gameplay as well.
