Can't rank up in SWAT?

Okay, I was a 49 in SWAT, but played a wacky game and have kept dropping since. (TL:DR at bottom)

A little about my play style: I’m a slayer. If I play with and against average players, I’ll get 30 kills or more most games, as you can see in my recent games. Not boasting, since I know many of you can do this, I’m just saying this to show that for some reason, it doesn’t seem to factor in anything to rank me up. In fact, while I was typing some of that (not at the same time of course) I played a game where I went 42-8 with 5 overkills, 2 killpocalypses, and 1 killionaire. Again, not boasting because, 1. 2 Corinthians 10:17; and 2. They were just casual gamers. This did rank me up 1 rank to a 46, but still, that was like my fifth win in a row before it ranked me up. Do I really have to play like this every game to rank up? Also, I do play solo, no parties. Does this affect it since I’m not in a party of 4?

The game where I was a 49, could’ve gone to a 50, was when I had ALL 3 of my teammates quit before the game and was playing against some Matchmaking warriors, including Jessica (if any of you know her. I think she’s a pro or at least semi-pro.) They were in a party of 4 on the other team and I had host. I got 54 kills against them in a 1 on 4 (the game did not give me any other teammates for some reason) and I lost 540-600. So yes, I did go negative 6 k/d, but I got 54 kills solo against 4 great players. And it ranked me down, and has been downhill from there.

TL:DR: Why aren’t I ranking up? What can I do to rank up in SWAT? Obviously, this isn’t a big deal, but I’d like to know why I can’t rank up. Is it like becoming a Brigadier General 49 in Team Slayer in Halo 3, where you have to win a LOT to rank up? Should I find a party of 3 and join them? Do I have to win always, and does it factor in ANY personal skill? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you! God Bless you

CSR is not just based on how well you do in a match, but how well you do relative to other players’ CSRs.

Look at the CSRs of the other players in your Game History. In most of your SWAT games, you’re the highest ranking player in the game. Of course you’re not ranking up. The only way to rank up is to beat players that have a higher rank than you. If you’re 46 and you keep beating 30s, that’s not a big deal; the system already expects you to. You need to beat CSR 46+ players.

This isn’t the CSR system’s fault; it’s the matchmaking system’s fault for not matching you with better players. And the worst part is that when matchmaking does match you against good players, they’ll give you crappy teammates who will either quit or make you wish they would quit, leaving you in essentially a 1 vs. 4 situation, and you still won’t rank up. It happens to me all the time.

Thank you for clearing that up. I’ve proven that I can match against 50’s, but my TEAMMATES haven’t proven that, and I lose because most 50’s are in parties.

Once again, thank you for clearing that up! I’ll try to find a team to play with!

God Bless you
