Can't Play Halo 5 At All Without Xbox Live?

My Xbox Live expired 2 days ago, I can’t even get into the start menu screen without Gold, why is this? Can’t even play the campaign without Xbox live gold. Anyone else experience this? When you press the button to access the main menu in halo 5 when you start it up, I press it and nothing happens.

Most of Halo 5 is online only but this doesn’t sound like that sort of issue. If you. Can’t even get to the main menu, that sounds like something else is the problem. What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I don’t know of any trouble shooting steps. I am going to go buy xbox live 1 year gold card at the gas station since it seems to be a rip off and more money if you buy it on xbox live itself. Maybe it will work after I get gold.

I’ve had similar issues while still with gold. I think my solution was to force-kill the game to restart to get the issue to fix itself plus the servers are having issues at the moment so that might be effecting it too.

Here follows some troubleshooting steps you can take before buying more Xbox Live, if you want. They’re listed from quickest to longest:

  • Hard reset your console. Hold the power button while your console is on until it turns off completely (takes about 10 sec). Alternatively you can turn off the console, unplug it from the power source, wait 10 sec, then plug back in. - Delete your profile and reinstall it. Look up instructions for this on Google. - Uninstall then reinstall Halo 5. This can be a lengthy step depending on whether you have the disk/digital version and how much internet bandwidth you have. - Factory reset console. Last resort step, if all else fails.I would also wait until the Xbox server issues are resolved, as that could be what’s causing you trouble.
