Hey guys and gals. Like many of you, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Master Chief Collection. I have installed the game off of the disc, and it said that it was ready to play. So when I go to play the game, it tells me that I need to download the 15Gb update, which is normal and all. However, it does not give me the option to launch the game, it seems that I have to wait for the 15Gb patch to install before playing. I was under the impression that we would be able to play the campaign while the patch was being installed, but apparently that does not seem to be the case. At least not for me. Has anybody else had any issues like this? Does somebody have a solution? Waiting for who knows how long to play the game while the patch is installing isn’t really isn’t what I had in mind when I picked up my copy today. Any feedback would be appreciated!
You are able to play the game while the patch is installing. However, if you’re trying to play some content that isnt installed yet…like Halo 3, then youre going to have to play the others. The 5 icons that pop up are 1-4 campaign and then multiplayer…which takes the longest to load.
How do I launch the game while it’s installing though? I went offline, installed the disc first, then went online again to play the game while it installs the patch, but I’m not given the option to even launch the Master Chief Collection. Which icons are you talking about? Are those in the main menu (to which I don’t have access)?

Just had the exact same issue but it resolved itself. Install the game fully, then update and wait. It’ll jump to like 18% after a while and then let you play the game.

Alright, I’ll try that. Hopefully I get to play the game soon enough! The patch is going super slowly, so it might take a while… Thanks for the heads up!
After an hour, the download is still only at 10%, and I’m nowhere near able to play… I’m guessing that I have to wait for the patch to fully download before being able to play then?
