So recently, my older brother and I had an issue where we would both eventually disconnect on the loading screen of a coop session in Halo CE. When my older brother bought a nearly 80$ hard drive that was faster than his older one, it started to work, and we had LOADS of fun. But this new update broke it again. I’m sick and tired of reporting screenshots and clips and stuff and just being met with “we can’t seem to replicate this glitch”. Before, it was a hard drive problem mixed with the game’s poor PC code, as every other game worked just fine. But now, we can’t even attempt to play a level in CE, even with a much better hard drive. Nothing changed on our end other than downloading the latest season. This is 343i’s fault, and I’m hoping they actually get off their butts and do something about it, because we’ve just been trying to play Coop CE for the past 2-3 years, and with it being fixed before, this is very, very frustrating.
Trying to play any version of CE that’s not the original is almost guaranteed to be an exercise in frustration. 343’s handling of the game that made Xbox viable has been nothing short of bewildering. I mean surely the amount of effort they’ve put into retrofitting the busted gearbox port exceeds what it would’ve taken for them to rebuild CE from scratch, right? I will say that they have taken some decent steps in a better direction as of late, but unless they can get this version on par with the original, it feels like it’s too little too late.
