Can't Load Maps

Hey everyone, tonight we just got Halo: CEA. We haven’t played the actual game yet, but we downloaded the maps. However, when we go into Halo: Reach it says we fail at loading DLC… My Xbox has not had any issues with DLC, but this time it can’t load the maps.

So ruling out that my Xbox is having issues, while it’s not impossible, it doesn’t seem likely. Could someone shed some light on the subject? We even tried re-downloading the maps but with no luck.

Thanks for anyone who helps.

So I tried downloading the maps on my brother’s Xbox, and it works fine. Our Xboxes are in the same house, but the difference his is wired and mine is wireless. I have tested my connection from the Dashboard and everything is fine, my wireless connection is 4 bars. When looking at the Halo: Reach menu at Network, Upstream Bandwidth is Warning, NAT is Open, and Packet Loss is Low/Excellent.

My only guess is that mine has issues downloading the Halo: CEA maps over a wireless connection, even though I have Low/Excellent packet loss (That’s what Reach is telling me, though I don’t know how accurate that is). Either that or my Xbox has recently messed up, as I can use my older DLC on my Xbox just fine.

Thoughts?

Maybe your hard drive is full and your xbox is giving you the middle finger?

It is a 250 GB HDD, and it is not even half way. And no, it’s definitely not giving me middle finger, that’s just a lame thing to say.

But thanks anyway.

the obvious choice is to plug ur xbox into the wire and try to download it… see what happens.

I plan on trying that, but I would rather wait until morning once I can get to a long ethernet cord, rather than move my Xbox within a few feet of my router. But I don’t want this to be something I have to do normally if I don’t have to.

I guess I’ll see how things go in the morning, at least I can still play the maps with the CEA disc. And maybe I can eventually find a solution.

Thanks.

Same problem here, 2 xboxes, 2 download codes.
Reach is the DLC version on both Xboxes.
One loads the maps, the other doesn’t.
I just deleted the maps, re-assigned the license (just to be sure) and downloaded it again. That did not work.

I remember there was a way to clear the Xbox cache when a similar problem occured with Halo 3, anyone have the specifics on a cache clear?

Clearing cache does not work.
Here is some more info.
I downloaded the maps on Xbox A with Gamertag C
I downloaded the maps on Xbox B with Gamertag D
Gamertag D can use the maps on both Xbox A and B
Gamertag C cannot use the maps on Xbox A, nor can anyone else except Gamertag D.
Gamertag C did transfer the license to Xbox A and redownloaded, and cleared cache, and even recovered the Gamertag C. The maps are still not useable on Xbox A unless Gamertag D is logged in.
Xbox B can use the maps no matter who is logged in, even silver members.

So the problem for me is Xbox A does not know it has a license for the Anniversary Maps, and Xbox Live cannot see the Gamertag C has usage rights, eventhough the pack is in the download history.

How is this problem fixed?
I’d call Xbox, but I’m 80% sure the person on the other side of the phone will either not believe me that this is the problem or not know what to do about it. And I don’t feel like spending 3 hours having them put me through the motions for the steps I’ve already done.

Here’s the solution to my “algebaeic” problem above.

“Halo Reach has a problem handling more than 3 active content packs”
This was known since the Defiant map pack. Repaired? No!

I had to delete my Bungie Pro confirmation in the games section of my memory management to fix it.
