Anyone else really want to quit a match before it starts but the menu won’t let you?
Sometimes I think I left the lobby and walk away only to find that a new game started when I get back…I didn’t know this has happened to anyone else. I thought I was just being stupid.

I agree once it finds a match you can’t back out, it’s always been that way. I’m talking about before that though, and I think the OP is too
I’m not sure if it’s what you’re referring to, but occasionally when a game ends I’m stuck in the “Postgame Carnage” screen and can’t back out. The only way to solve it is by restarting Halo 5

Yup, happens to me on the reg. Very frustrating!
Oh yeah happens to me quite a bit.
There’s absolutely no reason why games these days don’t prevent this from happening with just a simple stopper post-game that halts further searches until the player chooses if they wish to continue, with the exception of being in a party where the leader is the one to make that decision.

Sometimes it wont let you back out even if no player are found
