Hello,
If this isn’t the right place to post this, then please direct me elsewhere, thank you
So for the past 2 days, I haven’t been able to launch Infinite on my desktop. I just deleted and reinstalled it, but that hasn’t fixed it. I hit the green “play” button on steam. It changes to a blue “stop” button… and after a few seconds… goes back to a green “play” button.
CPU - Ryzen 5900x
GPU - MSI 3080ti
Ram - 64GB
I was able to run the game last friday night/early saturday morning, but since then… nothing. Halo MCC still launches and works perfect.
Hello!
Sorry to see that you’re having trouble launching the tech preview. I’ll see if I can be of any help to you.
So from what I understand, the game does not seem to open whatsoever? Is the task showing up on your taskbar or in task manager for the few seconds before steam shows the game not running anymore? If you haven’t already, I would try launching the game in administrator mode, perhaps with a fresh reboot as well, and maybe try to close any unnecessary background tasks to help mitigate any potential conflicts with other programs. I assume you were able to run the game around the initial release of the flight? There have been several updates and patches released since then and I assume it may have something to do with that. Last suggestion for you is to verify you have all of your latest drivers installed as I know AMD released a new update since the launch of this flight, perhaps NVIDIA did as well. On the other hand, if you happened to have already updated drivers between the game launching and it now not working, you could try a driver rollback to see if the new driver is conflicting with the test flight.
Anyways, let me know if any of this helps or if you have more information to help the community help you! You can always submit a ticket in the meantime if you haven’t already, and you may do so here: https://insidersupport.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403344734612-Known-Issues-Halo-Infinite-Technical-Preview-Flight
Good luck!

Hello,
Thank you for the quick response.
When hitting the start game button, nothing appears on my taskbar nor in my task manager.
I was running a nvidia studio driver and just updated to the game driver. Still not working. The NVIDIA studio driver was working for this game friday night, so I don’t believe it’s a driver issue.
I did first start playing the flight on my laptop, but since the flight did work on my desktop at a later time, i do not believe the issue is me jumping from my laptop to desktop to play it.

Ah I see. So probably not a driver issue or an issue with platform/device. Have you tried going back to your laptop you used originally to see if it would run on your steam account? I assume it will work although I am curious to rule out any other factors. If it only does not run on your current computer I think there may be some sort of conflict in programs as you didn’t make any hardware changes between. There is also the possibility of a hardware conflict after a patch was sent out as well but that would be unfortunate.

Yes the game has since launched on my laptop. I haven’t changed anything on my desktop since it was last launched on it, so that’s why I’m in complete awwe as to it not working.
If you are encountering issues during the flight, please refer to the known issues list on https://aka.ms/HaloSupportInsider and submit tickets for issues not present.
